Indiana football lands 3-star offensive lineman from Big Ten rival's backyard

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti hinted the his team's 2026 recruiting class would be getting a bit bigger in the coming weeks during an appearance at a recent booster event. The Hoosiers' latest verbal commitment fits that description in multiple ways. They landed a pledge from Eau Claire North High School offensive tackle Kenton Mondeau on Monday night. He's the 10th member of the signing class and is listed at 6 foot 7, 315 pounds on his Hudl profile. Mondeau has eight scholarship offers, including ones from Wake Forest, Iowa State and Air Force. He's rated three stars and No. 1,226 nationally, per On3's industry rankings. He's the No. 92 offensive tackle and fifth-best prospect in Wisconsin. Bob Bostad, IU's offensive line coach, is plenty familiar with the recruiting landscape in the state having spent 12 years as an assistant coach for the Badgers over two separate stints with the program. He also landed a verbal commitment from River Falls offensive lineman Samuel Simpson back in February. Simpson is the No. 1 ranked recruit in Wisconsin, per On3's industry rankings. Indiana will need to replace at least three scholarship offensive linemen who are in their final year of eligibility after the 2026 season, and starting left tackle Carter Smith could leave early for the NFL. 'Culture Shock': Our book on IU football's historic season makes a great Father's Day gift! The Hoosiers head into fall camp with a ton of experience up front, but will have plenty of competition as starting left guard Drew Evans looks to return from an injured Achilles while Kahlil Benson and Zen Michalski battle it out at right tackle.

Auburn football locks in official visit with LSU pledge Tristen Keys

Auburn football locks in official visit with LSU pledge Tristen Keys Will Auburn flip the nation's No. 1 wide receiver from LSU? Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze is known for his ability to flip top talent away from other programs, and he will attempt to work his magic this June when he welcomes the nation's No. 1 wide receiver for an official visit. Despite his pledge to LSU, five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys will take an official visit to Auburn beginning June 10, according to a report by Steve Wiltfong of On3. Keys spent last weekend at Miami, and will visit Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas A&M this month in addition to Auburn. Keys last visited Auburn during Big Cat Weekend in April, and came away impressed with fellow Mississippian Deuce Knight's ability to "flip it." During a visit in January, Keys complimented Auburn's energy, which keeps the Tigers in the hunt. 'The coaches and the environment is great,' Keys said. 'It gets loud. That is something I would like as a receiver. I enjoy the coaches. Coach Davis and Coach Freeze they're my guys. They're very energetic. Coach Freeze is around a bunch of young coaches and the energy it fits me. What they're doing for Auburn is great." Auburn's energy and his relationships with Freeze and Davis keep Auburn in the mix, but how likely is it that he will flip from LSU? Keys says that he is "locked-in" with LSU due mostly to their established supremacy in wide receiver development. Still, the door remains open for Freeze to sway his decision away from Baton Rouge during the official visit. Keys is the top-ranked wide receiver from the 2026 cycle according to On3, 247Sports, and ESPN, and ranks as high as No. 4 in the class ranking. Kirby Smart, Georgia Reportedly Made a Move To Steal 5-Star WR Away From Alabama

Kirby Smart, Georgia Reportedly Made a Move To Steal 5-Star WR Away From Alabama originally appeared on Athlon Sports. With spring football fading further into the rearview mirror, the attention of college football coaches and their staff turns squarely toward recruiting. From May 29 to June 22, it is a quiet period, meaning in-person recruiting contacts are permitted if they occur on the team's campus. Advertisement The Georgia Bulldogs are aiming to build upon a highly successful 2025 recruiting class, which finished second overall according to On3, with another impressive class brewing for 2026. UGA head coach Kirby Smart is reportedly using every tactic at his disposal in the pursuit of five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan. The country's No. 15 player and No. 2 wide receiver, per On3, has been considered an Alabama lean. But Georgia has been trying to shift his recruitment in their favor, according to DawgsHQ's Rusty Mansell. Georgia wide receiver coach James Coley has been making a lot of visits with Morgan this offseason. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound receiver was recently in Athens, Georgia, and on campus for an official visit with the Bulldogs. Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Many college football analysts felt the big piece missing from the Bulldogs last season was a lack of playmakers on offense. With the NFL draft departures of wide receiver Ladd McConkey and tight end Brock Bowers after the 2023 season, the Bulldogs took a step back statistically. Advertisement In 2023, with Bowers and McConkey, Georgia finished fifth in total offense (496.5 yards per game). In 2024, they dropped down to 51st (405.4 yards per game). Among their 2025 recruiting class, per On3, Georgia added Elyiss Williams and Ethan Barbour, two four-star tight ends. They also received five commitments from wide receivers and added three more via the transfer portal. The 2026 recruiting class will run through February of next year, but UGA is already putting in work with a four-star commitment at tight end and two more four-star commits at wide receiver. A player of Morgan's caliber would be a big coup for the Bulldogs. On3 has Morgan with a 92.8% prediction to Alabama and less than 1% to Georgia. Advertisement Last season, as a junior at Benjamin Russell (AL), Morgan caught 70 passes for 1,162 yards and 14 touchdowns. "I take pride in being a two-way player, someone who can impact both ends of the floor and bring energy every time I step on the court." Advertisement Herro is joining four-star power forward A'mare Bynum as the second freshman joining Ohio State's roster this year as four-star shooting guard Dorian Jones will not be enrolling with Ohio State for the upcoming season. Deciding to go with Ohio State puts him on a different path than his older brother. Tyler played for one season with the Kentucky Wildcats before he was drafted by the Miami Heat in 2019. Blue-chip CB names Texas in top five schools

Blue-chip CB names Texas in top five schools Texas has eight commitments in its 2026 recruiting class. They have one cornerback in four-star Hayward Howard Jr. who committed earlier this month. The Longhorns are also heavily in play for another cornerback in four-star Justice Fitzpatrick as he named them in his top five schools this week. Fitzpatrick plays at powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and has 43 total offers. He's the nation's No. 62 overall player and the No. 7 cornerback per On3's industry rankings. They have him as the No. 11 prospect in the state of Florida as well. It was a very productive junior campaign for Fitzpatrick in 2024. He racked up 34 tackles, two interceptions, and seven pass breakups as he aided St. Thomas Aquinas when the Florida 5A state championship. He also received Junior All-American honors from MaxPreps. Fitzpatrick hasn't spent a lot time in Austin with just an unofficial visit taken this April. However, he has an official visit locked in for June 13, which gives the Longhorns and opportunity to separate themselves from the pack.
