Shedeur Sanders calls out ‘another lie' about buying $500,000 car

In the wake of his stunning draft fall that still has more questions than answers, Shedeur Sanders is calling out 'another lie.' The fifth-round pick from Colorado, who was once considered a top-three prospect, shockingly dropped to Day 3 in April's draft with little details surrounding why. Now, a viral social media post claimed that Sanders spent his entire signing bonus and then some on a custom Rolls-Royce worth over $500,000. In a video on X that shows the mega luxury vehicle, Sanders can be heard talking on FaceTime in the background of the video, saying, 'My car get there?' Sanders has since refuted these claims. 'Another lie,' Sanders said on X. 'I'm focused on my team, not a car purchase !' Although in a previous episode of Tom Brady's 'Let's Go!' Podcast in September 2023, Sanders' father and coach Deion Sanders asked mentor Brady whether his son should have a Rolls-Royce while in college, which Brady quickly rebuffed. 'Do you think a college kid needs a Phantom? Like a Rolls-Royce,' Deion asked Brady. 3 Shedeur Sanders is seen on FaceTime as a Rolls-Royce is delivered. X, @ShedeurSanders 3 Sanders had previously talked to Tom Brady about owning a Rolls-Royce. X, @ShedeurSanders 'Nah, hey. No, it's not a Phantom, it's a Rolls-Royce Cullinan,' Shedeur, then a college junior for the Colorado Buffaloes, said while laughing. 'I think he needs to get his ass in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible, and less time in the car and more time in the film room,' Brady said on a multi-person video call with his podcast hosts. Sanders then rebutted that he had seen Brady had one, too. 'I had a few bucks in my pocket at that point,' Brady returned to Sanders. Sanders has the benefit of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) earnings while in college, which made him an estimated $6.5 million, according to On3Sports. This comes after a slew of rumors surrounded Sanders' precipitous drop in the 2025 NFL Draft that is nearly unprecedented. Reports indicated that Sanders 'did not handle the draft process well' and rubbed teams the wrong way leading up to the draft. 3 Shedeur Sanders is pictured in Browns gear. AP It had been reported that Sanders bombed his interview with the Giants after he became 'pissed' at the team for setting up errors in his interview and offensive installation. Sanders blames the perception of his father for his draft day fall, saying that '99 percent of hatred (directed at me) is toward Pops.' Sanders is now in the thick of attempting to make the Cleveland Browns' roster after being selected 144th overall. The Browns also have Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie third-round pick Dillon Gabriel on their roster. Sanders certainly has an uphill battle for playing time as he looks to make his mark at rookie camp.

Texas Tech junior transfer Darrion Williams commits to NC State

Texas Tech junior transfer Darrion Williams commits to NC State Texas Tech junior transfer Darrion Williams has reportedly committed to play next season for coach Will Wade at NC State, according to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports. Williams was named to the All-Big 12 first team this past season, averaging 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals on 34% shooting from 3-point range. He registered nine 20-point games, including a season-high 28 points on March 22 in the NCAA Tournament. The 6-foot-6 forward led the Red Raiders to their first Elite Eight appearance since 2019, averaging 21 points and 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He had several clutch plays throughout the tournament, including the go-ahead shot in an overtime win over Arkansas on March 27. Williams entered the transfer portal last month while also declaring for the draft. He was among the players invited to the combine and also worked out with Milwaukee and Sacramento during the predraft process before withdrawing from consideration on Tuesday. After pulling his name from the draft, Williams was considered one of the top players in the transfer portal. He reportedly received interest from several other programs, including Auburn, BYU and Kansas, which he visited on Tuesday. Williams is among several transfers for Wade, joining the likes of Terrance Arceneaux (Houston), Jerry Deng (Florida State), Colt Langdon (Butler) and Tre Holloman (Michigan State). The group is the 12th-ranked transfer class, according to 247Sports.

Five-Star College Basketball Recruit Makes Move on Duke

Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils reached the NCAA Final Four during the 2024–25 season. Following that impressive run, the program lost four of its five starters. Rather than dwelling on the departures, Scheyer and his staff immediately focused on reloading their roster to stay competitive heading into the 2025–26 season. That effort may soon pay off with the addition of a major five-star recruit. Advertisement Joe Tipton of On3 Sports reported Monday that Dame Sarr, one of the top prospects in the 2025 class, is on campus for an official visit to Duke, a detail confirmed by multiple sources. Sarr is a 6-foot-7 guard from Italy and is drawing significant attention from multiple top-tier programs. His shortlist includes the Oregon Ducks, Kansas Jayhawks, and now Duke. On May 7, he took an official visit to Kansas, where he met with head coach Bill Self. Sarr also received an offer from Illinois on January 19. Duke Blue Devils head coach Jon Pendleton-Imagn Images Sarr made the FC Barcelona roster for the 2024-25 season, and in March, he delivered a breakout performance, scoring 21 points and adding 3 assists. Advertisement However, his stint with the team ended in April after he chose to attend the Nike Hoop Summit without the club's approval. Barcelona considered it a breach of his contractual obligations, which led to his departure. Despite the setback, Sarr's stock continues to rise. He has represented Italy in numerous international youth competitions, including the 2024 U18 EuroBasket. With the departures of Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Tyrese Proctor and Khaman Maluach, Duke has significant openings in its starting lineup. Projected starters for 2025-26 include Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, Cameron Boozer and Patrick Ngongba II. If Sarr chooses to commit to Duke, he's expected to immediately compete for a starting spot and help solidify the Blue Devils' strong roster. Notre Dame lands three players on preseason top 100 list

Notre Dame lands three players on preseason top 100 list Running back Jeremiyah Love is just outside the Top 100 for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame Fighting Irish cornerback Leonard Moore might end up being the most impactful player for the team this upcoming season. That's according to one preseason ranking, at least. On3 Sports has a look at what it dubs the Top 100 players in college football this year, and Moore is listed at No. 7. Moore, who stepped up as a freshman after Benjamin Morrison got hurt, had 46 tackles -- 34 solo -- and two interceptions last season. He'll be expected to be not just a starter, but a star, on a stout Notre Dame defense as a sophomore. Running back Jeremiyah Love is 11th on the list. Love is expected to be not only one of the leaders of the Irish offense in 2025, but one of the best RBs in the nation. In 2004 he had 17 rushing touchdowns -- at least one in every regular-season game -- and 1,125 rushing yards, plus two receiving touchdowns. The third and final Notre Dame player on the list is offensive tackle Aamil Wagner, at 95. Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was ranked at No. 1. Texas Named to Top 8 for International College Football Prospect

The Texas Longhorns are looking to add to their already impressive 2026 recruiting class, which ranks 15th overall via On3 Sports. On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Tuesday that Texas was one of eight top schools for 2026 defensive lineman Valdin Sone. Advertisement His other schools were the South Carolina Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, USC Trojans, Georgia Bulldogs and Oklahoma Sooners. Sone is not from the United States of America. He hails from PPI Recruits in Malmö, Sweden. He is listed at 6 feet 3.5 inches and 320 pounds. PPI Recruits has featured recruits from countries like Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, and others. Texas Longhorns head football coach Steve Sarkisian.© Aaron E. Martinez/American-Statesman / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Sone is the No. 14 defensive lineman and a four-star recruit in the On3 Industry Rankings. The frontrunner for Sone via the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine is Florida, at 93.5%. The Gators are followed by Nebraska (1.6%), Oklahoma (1.4%), the LSU Tigers (<1%), Georgia (<1%) and Texas (<1%). Advertisement If the international prospect does commit to Texas, he would join five-star quarterback Dia Bell, four-star athlete Jermaine Bishop Jr., four-star receiver Chris Stewart, four-star offensive tackle Max Wright and four-star cornerback Hayward Howard Jr. Texas has not visited with Sone yet, but the prospect has been to Oklahoma, Florida, Nebraska, LSU, Auburn, the UCF Knights, South Carolina, Georgia, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Virginia Cavaliers. The Longhorns have a good eye for talent. On3 Sports recently revealed that 75% of Texas' commits from the 2026 class are blue-chips. A blue-chip prospect is a recruit who is a four-star or higher. Texas understands the importance of having quality across both lines of scrimmage. The Longhorns were named a finalist for four-star offensive tackle Samuel Roseborough.
