Punjab minister predicts victory for AAP candidate in Ludhiana West bypoll.

Ludhiana: Punjab minister Barinder Kumar Goyal has predicted a decisive victory for Aam Aadmi Party candidate and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora in the Ludhiana West assembly byelection, calling the MP's track record a blueprint for modern governance. Speaking at a poll meeting on Tuesday evening at Tagore Nagar, Goyal said Arora's commitment to Ludhiana's development and his reputation for clean politics made him the natural choice to continue the work of late legislator Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, whose death had triggered this byelection. "It's rare to see a Rajya Sabha MP so connected to the ground," said Goyal. "In the last 50 years, no one has delivered the kind of development Arora has — from infrastructure to industry. Every time the public or party needed him, he delivered." 'A Vote for Continuity and Character' Goyal described Arora as "honest, hardworking and deeply committed," and claimed his leadership had earned the confidence of both the public and the AAP high command. "He is capable of handling any responsibility within the party or in government," he said. The minister also attributed AAP's growing traction in Punjab to chief minister Bhagwant Mann's leadership and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal's "service-first" politics. "Governance driven by honesty is what India needs. We've taken bold, pro-people decisions for farmers, workers, and the industrial sector," he said. Arora's Development Pitch Arora, presenting his three-year performance report, promised to redouble his efforts if elected as MLA. "I'll work four times harder. This city deserves modern infrastructure and planned growth," he said, outlining key initiatives such as the Halwara Airport, elevated roads, four Sidhwan Canal bridges, and the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for industry. He appealed to voters to support a vision of Ludhiana as a "model city for the country. " Party Presence The event was attended by several key members of AAP, including Bittu Bhullar, Gurpreet Babbal, Manu Jairath, Munish Shah, and Mala Dhanda — all of whom echoed the message of continuity, credibility, and clean governance as Ludhiana heads to the polls.
