‘My parents are with me': Maxim Naumov back on Norwood home ice since losing parents in Jan. tragedy
Maxim Naumov, son of two Skating Club of Boston coaches who both died in January's Washington, DC plane crash, performed for the first time on home ice since the tragedy. The 23-year-old performed as part of the travelling Stars on Ice program, featuring several world champion skaters. Naumov bowed and kissed to the roaring crowd after performing to One Last Breath by Creed Saturday night. He told Boston 25 before the show, 'It's really special to be in this building that I practice in, train in, and coach in. I'm incredibly honored to be a part of it, honestly.' His parents were two of six who died in January with connections to the club in Norwood. He continued, 'It just means so much more. I feel like my parents are with me. I have a lot more energy, and I really feel that with every step I take on the ice.' Evan Bates and Madison Chock are two of the headliners for Stars on Ice. They won their third consecutive Ice Dance World Championship in Boston this March. Chock, before the show told Boston 25, 'We always say Stars on Ice is a family.' Bates added, 'This area and this club, it's been a cornerstone of US figure skating for decades. We've seen and felt the support over the last few months, especially.' Naumov celebrated his performance with a fist pump in front of roughly 1,800 in attendance, giving a standing ovation. The skaters will perform a second time on Sunday, beginning at 4 pm at the Skating Club of Boston. This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available. Creed Rises Higher Than Ever With Both Albums And Singles — In The Year 2025
Creed hasn't released a new album in more than a decade, but the rockers still maintain an impressive positioning on the Billboard charts. The outfit once dominated the rankings, and somewhat surprisingly, the band isn't far from the top of several lists this frame. This week, Creed sees both albums and songs reach new heights on multiple rankings. There hasn't been any major promotional push, nor is there any real reason for the group's work to be soaring – the music is just still, somehow, reaching a large audience to this day. The aptly-titled Greatest Hits has been one of Creed's most consistent performers for years now. The compilation appears on five Billboard rankings this frame, and more impressively, it hits a new high on three of them at the same time. The project lifts one space to No. 9 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, edging further into the uppermost tier. The set also climbs on the Top Rock Albums list, stepping up three rungs to No. 13. Over on the more wide-reaching Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, Greatest Hits ascends to No. 16. The compilation has never risen to high on all three tallies. Not only is Creed's Greatest Hits climbing this frame, it's also celebrating a special milestone on one of the rankings it appears on. The collection has now spent 52 weeks — exactly one year — on the Top Alternative Albums chart. It's also closing in on a similar milestone on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list. This week marks its fiftieth frame on that ranking, and if it continues to perform well – which seems all but certain – it will likely celebrate a full year on the tally in just two more turns. Creed's chart wins this week aren't limited to its full-lengths. One of the band's most beloved singles, 'One Last Breath,' is also enjoying continued success. The track appears on six Billboard charts this week, and it hits new highs on two of them. The rock anthem improves from No. 10 to No. 9 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart. It also climbs from No. 13 to No. 11 on the Rock Digital Song Sales tally, coming close to breaking into the top 10 there for the first time. Both of those placements mark loftiest positions the song has ever seen on those rankings. 'One Last Breath' manages to score a spot inside the top 10 on two rosters in America as well. It slips slightly on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs list, moving down just one rung to No. 2. On the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, the tune rises to No. 4, just one position shy of its all-time best showing at No. 3. Elsewhere, the song performs well enough to continue charting on both the Alternative Streaming Songs and Rock Streaming Songs rankings. It lands at No. 19 on the former and settles at No. 22 on the latter.

Trump Official Who Added Journalist To War Plan Chat Is Related To Creed Lead Singer
Many people on social media had their mouths wide open on Tuesday after national security advisor Mike Waltz inadvertently added a journalist Trump administration group chat discussing matters of national security. But not for the reason you might think. Although Waltz accidentally inviting Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to the chat was, in the words of former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, 'an epic fuckup,' it was a piece of trivia posted by CNN's Andrew Kaczysnki that took social media users to an even higher level of shock. 'Worth noting that Mike Waltz's brother-in-law is the lead singer of Creed,' he wrote on X. Waltz is married to Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Trump's surgeon general pick. Her sister, Jaclyn, is married to Scott Stapp, the lead singer ofmillennium-era rock band Creed (though they are currently in the process of getting a divorce, according to People.) Stapp even performed at fundraisers for his brother-in-law when he was in Congress. The unexpected family connection was a big topic of discussion on social media, as people tried to square the music of their youth with the politics of the present. And, yes, people did make jokes and memes using some of Creed's best-known songs, 'Higher,' 'One Last Breath' and 'With Arms Wide Open.' Thanks for asking. And one person couldn't help but wonder if the bizarre connection between a conservative politician and an early 2000s post-grunge act was a sign of something deeper. 'This is full circle. Is this hell?' Mike Johnson Downplays Group Chat Leaks As 'Officials Doing Their Job,' Gets Torched On X Pete Hegseth And Mike Waltz Ripped As 'Careless,' 'Incompetent' Amid Calls To Resign Fox News Hosts Put Most Ridiculous Spin On Group War Chat Scandal Atlantic Editor Names The 1 Thing He Struggled To Explain In Bombshell Group Chat Report
