OnePlus Nord 5 tipped to launch soon: Specs, features and expected India price
When can we expect the next-generation OnePlus Nord? If rumours are to be believed, OnePlus is gearing to launch the OnePlus Nord 5, successor to the OnePlus Nord 4, in India soon. The Nord 4 was launched in April 2024, so we can expect the fifth-generation Nord to arrive within the next couple of months. Right now, OnePlus is preparing to introduce the OnePlus 13s in India which is likely to arrive sometime in mid-May or early June. The Nord 5 could be its next phone in the country. The purported OnePlus Nord 5 has been spotted on the TV Rheinland website seemingly confirming its imminent launch. The listing reveals several key details of the upcoming device, including its battery size and charging speed. The alleged OnePlus phone with model number CPH2079 (via 91Mobiles), which is believed to be the Nord 5, will reportedly feature a 6,650mAh battery per the listing. If true, this would be a significant boost over the 5,500mAh unit found in the Nord 4. The listing also confirms support for 80W fast charging, similar to the Nord 4. However, this contradicts earlier reports that suggested the phone would have faster 100W charging. As for the other expected specifications, the OnePlus Nord 5 is rumoured to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, which is expected to launch in China later this month. Based on everything we can find from the internet, the phone is likely to have a 6.77-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Performance-wise, the Nord 5 may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, a slightly modified version of the upcoming flagship Dimensity 9400 SoC. If true, this would mark a shift from the Snapdragon-based Nord 4 and offer improved AI and gaming capabilities. The phone could launch with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, depending on the region. On the camera front, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to include a dual rear setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor (with Optical Image Stabilisation) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, the device may offer a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Other expected features include dual stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 out of the box. OnePlus Nord 5 is set for a launch in India soon, according to an online tipster, Debayan Roy. The tipster suggested the launch timeline and price and detailed the key features available in the latest OnePlus upgrade. The purported handset would be powered by a binned version of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset and could be a modified version of the OnePlus Ace 5V, which is reportedly set for launch in China later in May. OnePlus Nord 5 offers users an update on the existing OnePlus Nord 4 which was introduced in India in July last year as a relaunched version of the OnePlus Ace 3V. In an online post, Roy, who goes by @Gadgetsdata on X, claimed the expected price of the mobile would be Rs 30,000. When replying to a comment, he also suggested the phone could arrive in India as early as June or July. The tipster also wrote the OnePlus Nord 5 could come with a flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate in a major key feature. It will use the Dimensity 9400e SoC to power itself, which is notably a binned version of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to arrive with a dual rear camera unit comprising of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The front camera of the phone could feature a 16MP sensor.
