‘One-Punch Man' Season 3 Will Come Westward Via VIZ Media

The third season of the wildly popular One-Punch Man anime adaptation will be released in the West this October courtesy of VIZ Media. One-Punch Man started out as a webcomic and later a manga about Saitama, the titular protagonist who just wanted to be a hero for fun but can defeat any opponent with just 'one punch'. When the manga was adapted into an anime, the first season was animated by Madhouse. I reviewed the Blu-ray release of that, and it was and is a genuinely excellent anime, not least because of the amazing animation quality, but also the epic opening song from Super Robot Wars regulars, JAM Project. The second season of the anime was handed over to and they are back again for this new third season. VIZ Media will be streaming the third season this October, as well as handling all the home video releases. They also release the manga outside of Japan, so having it all under one roof is handy. Personally, I love One-Punch Man and also thought threezero's figures from a few years back were also excellent. The premise is silly, but the execution of the manga and anime is amazing. Here's hoping the third season lives up to all the hype, as the latest trailer (shown below) is rather great. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. I also manage Mecha Damashii and am currently featured in the Giant Robots exhibition currently touring Japan.

5 greatest action-comedy anime series ever made

Sakamoto Days (Credit: Crunchy Roll) These five action-comedy anime series blend sharp humor with dynamic storytelling. These are offering more than just laughs through unique characters and worlds. How Sakamoto Days balances chaos and calm View this post on Instagram A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) At first glance, Sakamoto Days looks like a simple gag series. A retired hitman runs a store and fends off old enemies. But beneath the jokes is a surprising sense of rhythm. Action scenes are sharp, while moments between characters build a strong emotional pace. The story flips between slapstick and intensity without losing its core. Each character has quirks that play well off Sakamoto's silence. Visual comedy adds to the punch. Even while dodging bullets, the humor never fades. It's a balance that makes the show stand out among recent releases. One Punch Man 's simple idea, sharp execution One Punch Man (Credit: Crunchy Roll) One Punch Man turns the superhero genre inside out. Saitama's strength makes every battle end in one blow. What keeps the series moving is what happens outside the fights. It leans into absurdity but keeps things grounded through the cast. Heroes around Saitama struggle, fail, and grow. The comedy comes from timing, not just repetition. Fast fights, clean animation, and a surprisingly thoughtful world make the show more than its premise. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Descubra o suplemento natural que está transformando rotinas AlwaysFit Undo This blend of dry humor and explosive action keeps the momentum strong, even across slower arcs. Spy x family 's mix of warmth and chaos Spy x Family adds heart to the genre. A spy, an assassin, and a telepath form a fake family. On paper, the setup is absurd. But the show's charm lies in how sincerely it treats this odd group. The action is brisk but never overshadows the family's dynamic. Anya's reactions carry much of the comedy, while Loid and Yor keep the pace fast. Emotional threads run through the plot without forcing drama. It's a mix that holds both energy and empathy, helping it connect across a wide audience. Hozuki's Coolheadedness redefines workplace comedy Hozuki's Coolheadedness brings a fresh spin to action-comedy. Set in Japanese hell, the series runs like an office drama. Hozuki handles mythical bureaucracy with a deadpan tone and harsh discipline. The humor is dry and rooted in folklore. Episodes move with calm precision, breaking up bursts of chaos with thoughtful pacing. Despite the surreal setting, characters behave with strict logic. This contrast sharpens the jokes, offering a slow-burn style that rewards patient viewers. The show respects tradition while twisting it into clever satire. Gintama's fearless comedy wrapped in chaos Gintama mixes absurd comedy with sharp action, set in a wild, alien-invaded Edo. Its fearless tone, heartfelt arcs, and unpredictable shifts make it a standout in action-comedy anime. A storytelling depth behind the humor These anime go beyond loud laughs and flashy fights. Each show finds its strength in pacing, character work, or unexpected world-building. Comedy becomes the entry point, but what stays is the depth behind the jokes. Whether through absurd premises or sharp execution, these five series prove that action-comedy in anime has more to offer than just a punchline. The Unending Anime Rivalries: From Naruto to Demon Slayer

Anime fans around the world are known for their passion, and nowhere is this more obvious than in the heated debates that spring up over popular series. From long-running classics to new hits, certain matchups — Naruto vs One Piece , Goku vs Saitama , 'sub vs dub,' and Demon Slayer vs Jujutsu Kaisen — ignite online (and in-person) battles across communities. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now These rivalries are fueled by nostalgia, personal identity, and sheer enthusiasm. Each feud says something about how fans connect to these stories, and why they'll defend them for years. Naruto vs One Piece: A generational clash Credits: CBR The Straw Hat crew in One Piece, symbolizing the loyalty of fans in the Naruto–One Piece debate. The clash between Naruto (1999–2014) and One Piece (1997–present) is a classic fan rivalry. Both are among the bestselling manga ever — Naruto sold over 250 million copies worldwide, One Piece over 500 million — so each has a massive global audience. Fans who grew up with the 'Big Three' shonen anime often fiercely argue which hero or story is stronger. For years, polls and forums have pitted Naruto's ninja world against Luffy's pirate adventures. The feud is partly nostalgic. Viewers who started watching in the early 2000s formed personal bonds with Naruto and Luffy, so picking a favorite is like choosing a childhood hero. Both series ran side by side for many years, fueling comparisons of story, character development, and power levels. Yet even as fans spar, the creators themselves remain friends. Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) and Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) have said they hold each other in 'high regard'. As one article notes, 'fans of both series often engage with each other to prove that their favorite series is better than the other,' but the manga authors push each other to new heights. Key points: Both series are cultural icons with huge global reach, so fans naturally compare them. Nostalgia plays a role: many fans grew up with these heroes. Online polls and memes keep the debate alive, even though neither side can be 'proven' objectively better. READ MORE: Battle of legends: Luffy, Naruto, or Ichigo — Who's the true King of shonen Goku vs Saitama: Titans of strength Credits: CBR Saitama from One Punch Man, whose raw power sparks debates with Dragon Ball's Goku. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A more recent fan battle pits Dragon Ball's Goku against One Punch Man's Saitama. Goku, who debuted in the 1980s, is often considered the benchmark of all 'strongest anime characters.' Saitama, by contrast, is a modern parody of the overpowered hero. Because One Punch Man plays with power fantasies, fans love to debate what happens if these two ever meet. This debate combines humor with genuine enthusiasm. A recent One Punch Man comic short by artist Yusuke Murata even showed Saitama deflecting a 'galaxy-level' energy blast with his head, a scene that left Dragon Ball fans surprised and entertained. News coverage of that story (and memes about it) stoked online arguments: Can Saitama's effortless strength outmatch Goku's many supercharged forms? Each time Saitama lands a new feat, social media lights up with chatter. The fight can't be settled — the characters are from very different worlds — so fans just enjoy hypothesizing. Key points: Goku and Saitama represent two eras/styles of shonen hero (serious vs satirical), so fans compare them for fun. Creators fan the flames: a new One Punch Man short explicitly showed Saitama besting Goku's attack, which reignited debates. The community uses this 'imaginary crossover' as a playful contest of loyalty: younger fans may cheer Saitama, older fans root for Goku. READ MORE: Goku vs Saitama: Clash of absolute power Sub vs Dub: Identity in viewing Not all feuds are about characters — some are about how to watch anime. The 'sub vs dub' debate (subtitled Japanese audio vs English dub voice-over) has divided fans since anime first became popular outside Japan. Sub advocates often claim they want the 'most genuine experience,' preferring the original Japanese performances. Dub fans point out that a well-done English cast can make stories accessible to more people. This debate quickly turns into identity territory. As one writer observes, sub-watchers sometimes set themselves apart as 'true' fans seeking a pure experience. He compares it to sports fans who tout their extensive team knowledge: it's about proving a kind of fandom authenticity. When someone insists 'I only watch subs,' it can trigger defensive reactions as though a personal identity is being challenged. In reality, neither side has an absolute claim: many anime viewers enjoy both options. Still, the argument persists because it taps into how fans define themselves. Key points: People's preference for sub or dub often feels deeply personal, even though it's just a viewing choice. As one observer notes, sub vs dub has become an 'identity marker,' with some fans using it to feel like an elite anime aficionado. The debate endures because each side perceives itself as defending authenticity, even though watching anime should ultimately be about enjoyment. Demon Slayer vs Jujutsu Kaisen: New-gen showdown Credits: CBR Muzan Kibutsuji (left) from Demon Slayer and Sukuna (right) from Jujutsu Kaisen, whose fans have clashed online. Finally, consider the clash between Demon Slayer (2019–present) and Jujutsu Kaisen (2020–present), two of the biggest new shonen series worldwide. Both feature demon-hunting heroes and cutting-edge animation, so fans naturally compare them. As one viral example shows, the debate can even turn on villains : when Jujutsu Kaisen 's recent climax aired, some fans said its antagonist Sukuna was better than Demon Slayer 's Muzan. That touched off a Twitter flame war with Demon Slayer fans insisting 'don't ya'll ever compare'. This feud reflects generational shifts and community pride. Demon Slayer helped bring anime into the mainstream (even being a box office smash in Japan), while Jujutsu Kaisen is viewed by many as the hot new successor. Social media amplifies every side-by-side trailer, character poll, or 'which is better' poll. Fans around the globe share clips and memes asking 'who has the best fight scenes?' or 'which hero is stronger?' The comparisons will go on as long as both series remain popular. Key points: Both series are recent global hits, so fans frequently pit them against each other on social media. A Sportskeeda report noted fans 'at war' over arguments like which villain is superior. These debates often hinge on current events (new episodes, movies, etc.) and reflect which show feels more meaningful to each generation of fans. READ MORE: Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death movie hits U.S. theaters on July 16 READ MORE: Demon Slayer Infinity Castle trailer leaks: Here's what you missed Why these feuds never die In the end, anime fandom feuds endure because they tap into something deeper than the shows themselves. Fans invest years of emotion, childhood memories, and personal taste into their favorite series. Debating a rivalry is a way to express that passion and to bond (or spar) with others who feel the same. Online platforms give everyone a megaphone, so a new episode or meme can spark instant global conversation. Common reasons these debates keep flaring up include: Nostalgia: Many fans discovered Naruto, Dragon Ball Z or other classics when they were young. Arguing about those old favorites keeps the memories alive. Identity: Choosing a side is a badge of honor. As one observer noted, people sometimes use these debates to define themselves as a 'true' fan or show off their knowledge. Community & Competition: Fans love challenges. Pitting series against each other is a fun way to engage and share opinions. It also mirrors friendly rivalries in sports or music fandoms. No Definitive Answer: Since these debates are subjective, they can never truly be settled. That means fans will keep discussing them indefinitely, each time with new evidence (new manga chapters, anime arcs, or fan polls). In short, biggest anime fandom feuds from Naruto vs One Piece to sub vs dub and beyond aren't going away anytime soon. They reflect how anime fans worldwide connect through shared enthusiasm — and how defending a favorite story can feel like defending part of oneself. That lively, ongoing conversation is just part of the global anime experience.

The main attraction of this crossover is the inclusion of an interactive Darth Vader AI NPC with generative chatbot functionality. This NPC interacts and converse with players with its generative synthetic voice, just like an AI chatbot. However, who knew that this NPC would have been the primary source of the Fortnite X One Punch Man leak. It's now proved that players weren't only interacting and talking to this NPC, many players were even digging deeper to investigate the in-game files of this NPC, and guess what! This is how a fan going by @itsmeleaky claimed that Fortnite is about to collaborate with One Punch Man. This news was brought to light by popular Fortnite leaker HypeX when he tweeted that according to @itsmeleaky, it's possible that Epic Games left the description of an unreleased skin in files pertaining to the AI Darth Vader NPC. The description, which is styled like a generative AI chatbot prompt, refers to an unidentified figure who looks like One Punch Man's main character Saitama. The said description doesn't specifically mention Saitama, but it reads 'a character wearing a yellow and red suit with a black belt. He has a bald head and no facial features..' So, there is no doubt that this unidentified character is none other than Saitama from One Punch Man. Fans need to keep in mind that these are all mere speculations and leaks and still very far from reality. Epic Games is yet to confirm anything about this potential crossover. However, looking at the past track records of Fortnite, this crossover isn't absolutely impossible. And this prompt left in the in-game file certainly raises the hype.
