The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced an Open House event for candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2025 examination. An initiative by the Office of Academic Outreach and New Initiatives at IIT Delhi under the 'Experience IITD' program, the Open house aims to help JEE Advanced 2025 qualifiers make informed decisions by helping them understand the academics, research, extra- and co-curricular activities, and campus life of IIT Delhi, a press statement informed. Notably, it is for the first time that the Open House will be organised across three major cities Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The objective is to reach a wider audience, offering students from different regions the opportunity to engage directly with esteemed faculty, students, and alumni of IIT Delhi, the statement added. The main event will be conducted on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in hybrid mode at IIT Delhi from 9:45 AM to 5 PM, and offline at ICT Mumbai 11 AM to 2 PM. The final session will be held in Bengaluru on June 8, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM at IISc Bangalore. The Open House at IIT Delhi will have an interactive session featuring the Institute's Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee, along with the Deans of Academics and Student Affairs, who will provide insights into the Institute's academic excellence, inclusive environment, and student support systems. Participants will also get a chance to hear from the in-charge of the Office of Career Services (OCS), who will shed light on the range of career, placement, and internship opportunities available at IIT Delhi. Not just this, the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the institute will showcase how students are empowered to translate their ideas into impactful ventures. There will also be a session on the UG admissions at IITD's Abu Dhabi campus, which will focus on the admission process and life at IITD-Abu Dhabi campus. Moreover, the Open House will also feature interactive sessions with faculty, current students, and alumni, who will share their experiences in academics, research, extracurricular activities, and campus life of IIT Delhi. According to an official statement from IITBBS, the open house will be held across two venues in a hybrid mode to accommodate participants from different regions. The first session is scheduled to take place on Saturday from 3 to 5 pm at the Shivaji auditorium, Gitam University in Visakhapatnam. India's Hyperloop tube to soon become world's longest at 410 metres

The Hyperloop tube, being developed with the help of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, is soon set to be the world's longest tube, measuring 410 metres in length. The 410-metre-long Hyperloop test tube located at IIT Chennai is already the longest Hyperloop test facility in Asia. Hyperloop is a high-speed train that runs in a vacuum in a tube. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the testing facility on Saturday, march 15 and witnessed a live demonstration. "Longest Hyperloop tube in Asia (410 metres)... soon to be the world's longest," he said. Speaking to journalists, the minister said the entire testing system for Hyperloop transportation has been developed using indigenous technologies, and congratulated all the young innovators for the achievement. The minister expressed confidence that India will soon be ready for Hyperloop transportation, as the technology, which is currently under development, has yielded good results in the tests conducted so far. The Railway Ministry has been provided financial funding and technical assistance for the Hyperloop project, and now, all the electronics technology will be developed at ICF Chennai. The minister stated that highly skilled experts at the ICF factory have successfully developed electronic systems for Vande Bharat high-speed trains, and the technology for this Hyperloop project will also be developed at ICF. The minister congratulated the young innovators team of IIT Chennai and the Avishkar organisation for this successful testing. Later, he visited the IIT Chennai campus in Guindy, where he inspected the exhibition organised by the IIT's Center for Innovation titled Open House 2025. He interacted with students and young innovators. During the interaction, he stated that India will become a leading country in all sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The minister noted that the youth are performing efficiently in fields of data science, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors, and that India has the highest number of skilled youth in the world, who will play a significant role in making India a developed nation. He also announced that presently there are five semiconductor facilities operational in the country and the first India-made semiconductor will be rolled out by the end of this year. The official presented prizes and shields to the winners of the innovation competition held during the exhibition and encouraged them to create more inventions. Dr Kamakoti, Director of IIT Chennai, was also present at the event.
