Law & order situationworsening in UP: AAP
1 2 3 Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday alleged that the law and order situation was worsening in UP. He referred to the rape of a five-year-old in a temple in Agra and violence against four Muslim youth accused of carrying beef in Aligarh. He also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for carrying out 'Operation Votebank in the name of Operation Sindoor, saying that BJP should be ashamed of politicising the Army's operations. "Who gave these people the licence to act like thugs in the name of cow protection ? There is a double-engine govt in UP and neither engine is working. In such cases, the state govt should establish a fast-track court to punish these criminals, setting an example for others," he said. Singh said the PM has time for rallies but not for meeting women affected by the Pahalgam attack. BJP members are planning to distribute sindoor to women door-to-door. Perhaps they don't understand the significance of sindoor which women wear as a symbol of self-respect and dignity given by their husbands," he said. The AAP MP also questioned the Centre's claim of India becoming the fourth largest economy in the world, claiming that NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani also refuted this claim by suggesting if the current growth rate continues, India might surpass Japan by the end of 2025. "The real joy for the public will come when per capita income increases. In reality, India ranks 140th in terms of per capita income," he said.
