People with a sesame allergy are being advised to avoid eating plant-based chicken by Oplante due to the presence of the undeclared allergen.
'It was packaged in a transparent plastic bag,' Quebec's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) states. 'The product was sold frozen.'
The warning has been issued as a precautionary measure and only applies to people with a sesame allergy.
'Anyone in possession of this product is advised not to eat it. They should return it to the store where they bought it or throw it away,' MAPAQ adds. 'If you have any symptoms related to the consumption of a product, it is advisable to consult a health professional.'
MAPAQ says it has not received any reports of allergic reactions associated with the consumption of the food.
