Police arrest 31-year-old man during drug raid in Bau

BAU (April 30): A 31-year-old man was arrested during a raid on a house in Kampung Serikin here at around 9.45am yesterday.
Bau district police chief DSP Dr Daram Ruer said the suspect was arrested during 'Ops Tapis' conducted by personnel from Bau District Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division.
'Upon inspecting a bedroom on the upper floor of the house, police found a zipped bag containing a transparent plastic packet filled with white crystal-like substances believed to be dangerous drugs,' he said in a statement.
He added that a further inspection outside the bedroom led to the discovery of a cigarette box on a window ledge, which contained another transparent plastic packet of similar crystal-like substances, along with 14 pills suspected to be Erimin 5.
'Initial urine screening of the suspect also returned positive for drugs,' he said.
The suspect is currently remanded for further investigation under Section 39A(1) and 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Daram said the Bau District Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division will continue to intensify operations in areas identified as having drug abuse activities. dr daram ruer Kampung Serikin lead ops tapis
