Eutelsat Replaces CEO as Europe Pushes to Create Starlink Rival
Satellite operator Eutelsat Communications SA replaced Chief Executive Officer Eva Berneke with a telecommunications executive as Europe seeks to develop a homegrown alternative to Elon Musk's Starlink. Jean-François Fallacher, who was previously CEO of Orange SA's French unit, will take over on June 1, the French satellite company said in a statement Monday.

Orange Sales Rise Slightly Buoyed by African Unit Growth
Orange SA reported first-quarter sales that rose slightly as growth in the company's Middle East and African business helped mitigate the intense price wars in its key French and European businesses. Sales rose 0.6% when adjusted for currency fluctuations to €9.91 billion ($11.2 billion) in the first fiscal quarter from a year earlier, the French phone service provider said in a statement on Thursday. That matched the average analyst forecast compiled by Bloomberg. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization for the period were also in line with estimates, rising 3% to €2.48 billion.

BT Approaches AT&T and Orange on International Unit Tie-Up, Sources Say
By and Jillian Deutsch Save BT Group Plc has approached major telecommunications companies about partnerships to help turn around its struggling international business, according to people familiar with the matter. The UK-based operator approached potential partners including AT&T Inc. and Orange SA to explore tie-ups that could involve selling a stake in its global segment, the people said, asking not to be identified because the discussions are private. Deliberations are preliminary and there's no guarantee of a transaction, the people said.

Orange's Sales Meet Analysts' Estimates on Growth in Africa
Orange SA reported fourth-quarter revenue that rose slightly, in line with analysts' estimates, thanks to growth in its Middle East and African region offsetting declines in Europe and its enterprise business. Orange sales rose 0.5% when adjusted for currency fluctuations to €10.4 billion ($10.9 billion) in the fourth quarter from a year earlier, the French phone service provider said in a statement on Thursday. That compared with the €10.5 billion average forecast from analysts compiled by Bloomberg.
