Fort Cavazos officer to attempt Guinness World Record
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (FOX 44) – A Fort Cavazos officer will attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the fastest mile run in a bomb suit. According to the Fort Cavazos Media Center, the current record of seven minutes and 24.21 seconds was set by Mark Gibbs in 2017. Captain Travis Chewning-Kulick hopes to demonstrate the physical and mental fortitude required of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians who routinely operate in challenging and physically demanding conditions by besting this time. Captain Travis Chewning-Kulick is commander of the 752nd Ordnance Company in the EOD, according to the Fort Cavazos Media Center. Magnet fishers pull suspected hand grenade from Leicester canal
Army bomb disposal experts were dispatched after magnet fishers caught a suspected hand grenade, police Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was deployed to Canal Street in Aylestone just after 12:30 GMT on Sunday.A large cordon was put in place for several hours in the "interests of public and officer safety".Specialist officers recovered the device, and the cordon was later lifted.
