Wanna help name the new Gardners Candies mascot? Here's how
TYRONE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A sweet surprise is coming to the Tyrone Irish Heritage Festival.
Gardners Candies is introducing its first-ever mascot, modeled after the brand's Original Peanut Butter Meltaway Bar, and launching a nationwide naming contest with a prize that candy lovers won't want to miss.
The yet-to-be-named mascot will make its official debut Saturday, March 15, at Gardners' flagship store, museum and ice cream parlor in Tyrone. At the same time, Gardners will roll out the mascot on social media and open a contest to name the new character. The winner will receive a year's supply of Original Peanut Butter Meltaways.
Entries will be accepted from March 15 through March 22 on Gardners' website and social media pages. A panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on creativity, originality and alignment with the Gardners brand. The winner will be notified the week of March 24, with the official announcement of the selected name coming the week of March 30.
Gardners' chief operating officer, Jim Westover, emphasized the role of mascots in brand visibility and consumer engagement as the company continues to expand nationally.
