Kuwait Football Association delegation attends 75th FIFA Congress in Paraguay
KUWAIT CITY, May 17: A delegation from the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) took part in the 75th FIFA Congress, held on May 15 in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. The KFA was represented by Osama Hussein, Vice President for Technical Affairs, and Ayman Al-Husseini, a member of the Board of Directors. Osama Hussein actively participated in the official voting process on various resolutions presented during the congress. Meanwhile, Ayman Al-Husseini was selected as one of three observer representatives to oversee the electronic voting process, underscoring FIFA's commitment to transparency and integrity. On the sidelines of the event, the Kuwaiti officials held key meetings with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, as well as several other prominent sports figures. Discussions focused on strategies to advance Kuwaiti football, enhance its regional and international presence, and explore new development opportunities. KFA officials attend the AFC Club Leaders Summit in Jeddah
JEDDAH, May 3: Kuwait Football Association Vice Chairman Osama Hussein, Board Member Dr. Ahmed Ajab, Al Arabi Club Representative Ali H., and Kuwait Club Representative Mohammed Al-Otaibi participated in the AFC Club Leaders Summit for League and Cup Champions, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The AFC delegation is also scheduled to attend the AFC Elite Cup final, followed by meetings of the AFC committees to discuss the competition system for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

The Blues are in a must-win scenario to keep their hopes alive for a third or fourth-place finish, which would secure a play-off spot in the qualifiers. A draw would extend Kuwait's chances to the final two rounds, while a loss would eliminate it from the race to qualify. In Group B, South Korea leads with 15 points, while Iraq and Jordan share second place with 12 points each. Oman sits in fourth with 7 points, while Kuwait (5 points) is just ahead of Palestine (3 points) at the bottom of the standings. The entire squad participated in the latest training session, giving all players an equal shot at making the starting lineup for the decisive match.
