Two teens dead following 'gunfight,' OKC police say
Two teens died and one was arrested following what police said was a gunfight Tuesday night in the parking lot of an elementary school in Oklahoma City. Just before 9 p.m., police responded to Integris Southwest Medical Center on a report of three gunshot victims. Police said those involved arrived at the hospital in two separate vehicles. One victim died after arrival. Police identified the victim as Oscar Herrera, 18. A second victim, Raymundo Fernandez, 17, also died at the hospital. Investigators learned that several people met Tuesday night in the parking lot of 5212 S Villa Ave., which is the address of Coolidge Elementary School. A dispute escalated to a gunfight, police said. Police said a 17-year-old boy was arrested on a complaint of second-degree murder. The Oklahoman is not publishing the name of the accused because he has not been formally charged. The homicides are No. 6 and No. 7 this year in Oklahoma City. The investigation is in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200.
