Maritime Fisheries Federation Re-Elects Mohamed Ali Oukacha as President
Rabat – Mohamed Ali Oukacha has been unanimously re-elected as President of the Federation of Maritime Fisheries (FPM) following the Ordinary Elective General Assembly held at the confederation's headquarters this week.
Oukacha, who led the FPM for the past three years, is now beginning a new term for the 2025-2028 period alongside his Vice President, Taoufik Joundy, said the federation in a press release.
During the assembly, industry professionals gathered to discuss challenges facing the maritime fisheries sector, as well as key opportunities. Participants spoke about pressing issues and explored future prospects for sustainable growth, according to the statement.
Oukacha delivered a speech at the assembly in which he reaffirmed the federation's commitment to defending the interests of all sector stakeholders. He also expressed the FPM's dedication to ensuring that the concerns and demands of its members is at the top of its agenda.
The federation has a membership base of 240, including chambers of maritime fisheries, professional associations, and companies.
The statement concluded by stating that the FPM, which is affiliated with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), plays a central role in advocating for the sector's development and enhancing its national impact.
The Federation was established in 1999 to advocate for the interests of businesses operating in the fishing industry and ensure their representation before public authorities.
