India to contribute 10% of 6G patents by 2027: Jyotiraditya Scindia

India is set to significantly influence the development of 6G technology. Jyotiraditya Scindia announced India's strong position in 6G patent filings. The country aims to contribute 10% of the patents when protocols are finalized in 2027. India has already had two proposals accepted. The focus is on ubiquitous and equitable connectivity. Remove Ads New Delhi: India will play a seminal role in defining the protocols of 6G, with the country already among top six in terms of filing patents for the next-generation technology , said communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia He added that when the protocols would be finalised-expected to happen in World Radio Communications Conference in 2027-India will contribute 10% of the minister was speaking at the theme launch of India Mobile Congress 2025 to be held in October."We have already filed two issues which have been accepted. One is ubiquitous connectivity and the other is in terms of equity of connectivity . We have achieved this landmark in addition to the patent filing," Scindia said. "We have built one of the most robust telecom networks and systems across the world which is cutting edge, customer oriented and service oriented. While we talk about opportunities such as this, innovation has to be at the core."The minister said India has come a long way when data consumption was sporadic, where infrastructure and equipment were hard to come by.- -Our Bureau
