Frank Serra of Frank's Pizza, Silvis, passes away
Frank Serra, owner of a Quad-City favorite, Frank's Pizza, has passed away. Our Quad Cities News verified with the restaurant that Serra died March 11. According to a post originating online from Chris Adkins, a Frank's Pizza manager: Today we lost a great man, one of the most important men in my life, next to my father. He was a second father to me and my mentor. I grew up with all of his kids, and they're like brothers and sisters to me. Just like my father, I could go to Frank for advice or anything, and he always helped without question. Just like any family, we didn't always agree on everything, and we would butt heads every now and then, but we always had love and respect for one another. When I was 20 years old, Frank told me he was going to make me his manager someday. After working in the kitchen for eight years, he took me under his wing and had me wait tables for a year and tend bar for another year. I worked for Frank for a total of 38 years, and he took care of me for those 38 years. I will always have love and respect for you, Frank. I know you're up in heaven watching over us. Rest in peace, my friend. Chris Adkins Frank's Pizza is at 711 1st Ave., Silvis. This is a developing story. Stay tuned to Local 4 News, Fox 18 News and for updates. Got a news tip? Water main break in Davenport slows traffic
A water main break is causing some issues for the morning commute in Davenport. It broke it in the area of Kimberly Road and Division Street just before 8 a.m. Our Quad Cities News saw crews salting roads near the intersection. Due to how cold it is, the water gushing out is freezing pretty quickly onto the road. Traffic is moving slowly through there right now, but it looks like crews might shut down part of that area. This is a developing story. Stay tuned to Local 4, Fox 18 and for updates. Got a news tip?
