Weather doesn't stop locals from biking through Columbiana County in annual spring tour

COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WKBN) — Gloomy weather didn't stop locals from enjoying the Outspokin' Wheelmen's annual Spring in Columbiana County Tour on Sunday. 2025 marks the group's 30th year hosting the event. 'Usually, when we have this, it rains for some odd reason. Every once in a while, we get a decent day, and this hasn't been a washout,' said David Hughes with Outspokin' Wheelmen. The club has been around for more than five decades, still bringing in members each year. 'I think a lot of people who exercise know that you are more likely to exercise if you have a buddy and someone that you are responsible to show up for. So, the club is a great way to do that,' said Kim Blevins with Outspokin' Wheelmen. 'It is like one big family.' Blevins has been a member for more than two decades now. 'We've ridden so long together. It's almost — you're not just going out with your family and stuff, but you get to know everyone. You get to know their families, also. They get to know yours, and it's just a good group of people that love to ride bicycle and have a good time,' Hughes said. The spring event helps raise funds for various organizations in the area, along with their own club funding. As of now, there are about 200 members of Outspokin' Wheelmen. 'They're all very friendly and welcoming to new members,' Blevins said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
