Threat of rain forces cancellation of PAAL Easter Egg Hunt

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The rain forecast for Saturday and Sunday has prompted the cancellation of a long-running holiday tradition. Due to what it calls the 'unpredictable and potentially unsafe weather,' the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has canceled its 10th annual PAAL Easter Egg Hunt that had been scheduled for Saturday. It will not be rescheduled. 'We know this event is a favorite for many in Jefferson Township and the surrounding community, and we share in your disappointment,' writes the sheriff's office in announcing the cancellation. 'The safety of our families, volunteers, and staff is always our top priority.' In her forecast Friday, Storm Team 2's Jamie Jarosik said that showers and thunderstorms will develop late Friday, and continue into Saturday in the form of several rounds of rain.
