Liberals retain Kanata–Carleton

A year and a half ago, the Liberals broke the PCs' decades-long hold on Kanata-Carleton. This time, CBC projects the party has won the riding again.
Covering northwest Ottawa, the riding mostly follows city limits for its dividing lines. Its southeastern corner is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle with Carleton, Nepean and Ottawa West-Nepean.
Defending the seat was Liberal MPP Karen McCrimmon, the former Liberal MP for the area who won a very tight 2023 byelection triggered when PC cabinet minister Merrilee Fullerton resigned.
The riding had been held by Conservatives for decades.
Six candidates ran for the seat this time.
