KUCHING (May 25): Sharing the stage at the finals of Mr Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) 2025 in Johor Bahru was a memorable experience for brothers, Joseph and Hilarry Ladi.
It was even more exciting when Joseph, 38, was announced winner of the Bodybuilding Under-65kg Class, while Hilarry, 44, placed first runner-up.
At third place was Constable Mohd Izuwan Ahmad from Penang.
'At first, not many knew that we're brothers until the emcee announced the finalists of this category.
'When they realised it, the spectators cheered and shouted our names, which was very exciting,' said Joseph when contacted via WhatsApp today.
The athlete, who hails from Kampung Seratau and is based at the Padawan District police headquarters, regarded his Johor win as boosting his preparations for Mr Asia 2025 Championships, to take place in Bangkok, Thailand this August.
'Perhaps I'd take a short Gawai break, but after that, my intensive training resumes,' said Joseph, who has been in the police force since 2010.

In his Mr Asia debut last year in Indonesia, Joseph brought home bronze medal from the Bodybuilding Under-65kg category.
Earlier in that year, at the Southeast Asian Championships in Laos, he clinched gold in the same category.
Mr PDRM 2025, which concluded last Saturday, had announced the Sarawak Police Contingent as the overall champion with a collection of one gold, two silver and one bronze medals – earning them the coveted Inspector-General of Police Cup.
Mohd Al Badrul Abu and Mohamad Al-Iqbal Rozlan contributed the silver and bronze medals, respectively, from the Athletic Physique Above-170cm category.
In the Pahang edition last year, Sarawak also lifted the overall championship trophy.
This year, Mr PDRM gathered 118 athletes representing 16 police contingents from all over the country. lead Mr Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) 2025
