Masjid Jamek Pekan Mesapol win friendly football match
Published on: Friday, May 09, 2025 Published on: Fri, May 09, 2025 By: Jinius Pandakin Text Size: MJPM (back row) and PD Top Ten FT's players pose before the friendly match. SIPITANG: Masjid Jamek Pekan Mesapol (MJPM) secured a 2-0 victory over PD Top Ten FT in a friendly football match held at the Sipitang District Council (MDS) field, on Monday. In the first half, both teams played cautiously, focusing on strategising their gameplay. MJPM frequently launched attacks down the right wing, but their crosses into the box were consistently intercepted by PD Top Ten FT's defenders. Both sides had equal opportunities to score, but most attempts either went off target or were saved by the goalkeepers. The first half ended in a goalless draw. The second half saw a more intense and engaging pace from both teams. In the 59th minute, MJPM was awarded a penalty, which was confidently converted by Sham (Hamzah Karia), giving MJPM the lead. Fourteen minutes later, MJPM doubled their advantage when AJ Boy broke through the defence and fired a powerful shot into PD Top Ten FT's net. The score remained 2-0 until the final whistle. The match, which served as a friendly and team-building exercise, had Khairi Hadi managing MJPM while PD Top Ten FT was managed Affendy Allyssandro. * Follow us on Instagram and join our Telegram and/or WhatsApp channel(s) for the latest news you don't want to miss. * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
