ACME Solar commissions first phase of 52.5 MW out of 300 MW Sikar solar power project in Rajasthan

By Aman Shukla Published on May 9, 2025, 15:40 IST ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned the first phase of its Sikar Solar Power Project located in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The commissioned capacity of 52.5 MW is part of the larger 300 MW project that is scheduled to be completed in multiple phases. With this development, ACME Solar's total operational solar power capacity has increased from 2,540 MW to 2,592.5 MW. The project is situated on approximately 1,300 acres in Bikaner, an area recognized for high solar irradiation levels. Energy generated by the solar panels is pooled at inverter stations and stepped up for grid evacuation through a dedicated single-circuit 220 kV transmission line connected to the Bikaner-II grid substation. Financing for the project has been provided by PFC Limited. Upon full commissioning, the project is expected to generate around 780 million units of electricity annually. The generated power will be sold on power exchanges on a merchant basis, with allocation determined by commercial optimization strategies. This project adds to the growing number of solar installations contributing to India's renewable energy infrastructure. Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
