Giants' Day 3 Pick Receiving Significant Praise

For the second year in a row, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has passed the NFL Draft test with flying colors. Perhaps he was in line for an easy 'A' when he took a blue-chip prospect in edge rusher Abdul Carter and traded up for a potential franchise quarterback before the end of Round 1. It was the depth of the Giants' class, though, that won over the football world. Despite trading two 2025 Day 2 picks (and a 2026 third-round selection) for quarterback Jaxson Dart, Schoen came away with multiple plug-and-play starters, Dart, and some of the best value selections the class had to offer. Advertisement Among them was running back Cam Skattebo, whom New York drafted early in the fourth round. He won't immediately slide in as a starter like 2024 fourth-round pick Theo Johnson did at tight end, but there's a real path to playing time. With his physicality and competitive toughness, he could quickly become a big part of the offense's plans. As such, the Giants have continued receiving praise for picking a potential starter on Day 3. 'I put Skattebo with the Giants in my seven-round mock (six spots earlier than he was actually picked) because his power and short-area agility make him a tough guy to tackle,' Chad Reuter wrote. 'To me, he's the most explosive runner on the roster. He's also a threat as a receiver and will stay fresh if regularly rotating with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary .' Reuter suggests it'll be a three-headed monster for New York, but Skattebo projects to be an incredible stylistic complement to Tracy. Singletary, who was largely demoted to short-yardage situations after Tracy took the starting job, could reasonably get pushed out of the game plan. Advertisement Skattebo is bigger, stronger, and offers more in the passing game, meaning his technique just has to be passable to make an impact. According to Pro Football Focus, Skattebo's ability to break tackles made him one of the top running backs in an impressive class. 'Skattebo was RB3 and the No. 51 overall player on the PFF Big Board, making this a strong value pick for the Giants at the top of the fourth round,' Pro Football Focus said of the running back. 'He doesn't have elite speed, but he excels in many areas that translate well to the NFL. Skattebo ranked above the 85th percentile in PFF rushing grade in both gap and zone schemes in 2024 and was the only running back besides Ashton Jeanty to force more than 100 missed tackles on the ground last season.' Skattebo gives the Giants a refreshing sense of physicality, and his motor seems to leak from every quote he gives. He's easy to put on the field, even easier to root for, and a solid bet to see significant playing time in 2025. Where the Bills' picks ranked on consensus big board before 2025 NFL draft

Where the Bills' picks ranked on consensus big board before 2025 NFL draft The Buffalo Bills added nine rookies in the 2025 NFL draft, and they have mostly received good draft grades from national media. Six of the picks were on the defensive side of the ball as the Bills and general manager Brandon Beane made it clear they wanted to upgrade that side of the ball. Beane not only added tons of talent to the defensive line and the secondary, but he got good value on the picks. Specifically, Landon Jackson was projected as the 39th-best prospect according to Pro Football Focus, and the Bills picked him at 72 overall. Georgia WR named as one of the NFL draft's biggest reaches

Georgia WR named as one of the NFL draft's biggest reaches Pro Football Focus has named the New York Jets' fourth-round selection of Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Arian Smith as one of the biggest reaches of the 2025 NFL draft. The Jets drafted Smith with the No. 110 pick in the draft. Smith is known for his speed. He ran track at Georgia and is one of the fastest players in the draft. Smith did not become one of Georgia's top pass catching threats until his senior season at Georgia in 2024. However, PFF does not think that Smith was a good value pick for the Jets. In fact, PFF thinks the Jets took Smith several rounds too soon. "Smith has plenty of athletic tools, and the Jets are clearly betting on his upside after he finished at No. 343 on the PFF Big Board," said PFF. "He stepped into a full-time role for the first time in 2024, earning a 57.1 PFF grade with 10 drops on 48 receptions and just a 22% contested-catch rate." Smith posted career-best numbers across the board in 2024. Smith recorded 48 receptions for 817 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He struggled with drops at times, but did an excellent job of gaining separation throughout his Georgia career. He impressed former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden during the predraft process. We think Smith has the ability to succeed in the NFL. He compare him to former Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tedd Ginn. Smith may be a bit of a late bloomer, but his speed is something you can't coach and have to respect.

Eagles Move On Longhorns Lineman Tied To Lane Johnson's Future?

The Philadelphia Eagles used three of their draft picks from the 2025 selection process on offensive linemen. While none of these picks were taken within the first two days of this NFL Draft, there is reason to suspect they may have found at least one diamond in the rough. The reason? Jeff Stoutland. Advertisement Philadelphia's offensive line coach has been the best in the league for awhile now, and he has shown a unique ability to develop late round talent into quality starters and depth. His latest project could be his best one yet. With the selection of Texas tackle Cameron Williams, the Eagles took a raw athlete late in the draft that could have easily gone within the first two days. Williams' lack of experience really hurt him as he could have easily gone back to college and become a top-10 pick the following year. That's fine for Philly. Pro Football Focus raved about the pick afterwards giving the Eagles a "steal" draft grade for Williams. Advertisement "Ranked 93rd on the PFF Big Board, Williams might be one of Day 3's biggest steals," PFF Wrote. "He earned an 84.0 grade on zone blocks last season and could become Philadelphia's long-term answer at right tackle once future Hall-of-Famer Lane Johnson retires." Philadelphia is always conscious about keeping their players around, especially those that are legends of the franchise like Johnson. The former fourth-overall pick is nearing the end of his career, though. And the very real fact that the team could be looking to fill his replacement should be scary for the rest of the league. There aren't many times the Eagles will miss on an offensive lineman. Here's betting they got another one right. New York Giants rookie Cam Skattebo named one of biggest NFL draft steals

New York Giants rookie Cam Skattebo named one of biggest NFL draft steals The New York Giants, specifically general manager Joe Schoen, have received praise for how they handled the 2025 NFL draft. With seven total picks, the Giants found solutions to questions on both sides of the ball. They thought they'd have to choose between Marcus Mbow and Cam Skattebo, but they managed to get both. They also added Abdul Carter as the third overall pick. An instant impact player, Carter is a solid addition to the defense. But Carter isn't the only dynamic player the Giants drafted this year. Jaxson Dart could be their quarterback of the future, and Skattebo is vastly underrated. Pro Football Focus has named Skattebo as one of the biggest steals of the draft. Skattebo was RB3 and the No. 51 overall player on the PFF Big Board, making this a strong value pick for the Giants at the top of the fourth round. He doesn't have elite speed, but he excels in many areas that translate well to the NFL. Skattebo ranked above the 85th percentile in PFF rushing grade in both gap and zone schemes in 2024 and was the only running back besides Ashton Jeanty to force more than 100 missed tackles on the ground last season. What Skattebo lacks in speed, he makes up for in other attributes. His size, strength, and power are all reasons he scored 21 touchdowns and averaged 5.8 yards per carry in his senior season at Arizona State. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary sit in front of Skattebo on the depth chart, but if Skattebo performs well, it wouldn't be surprising to see that change. His tenacity on the field, his ability to carry bodies on his back while moving the ball forward, and his determination to continue to improve are all reasons he will have a successful NFL career. The Giants got a steal with Skattebo in the fourth round. Now let's see if Brian Daboll can make anything out of it.
