Marvin Harrison Jr.'s only goal in 2025 is to "win more games"
Larry Fitzgerald expects Marvin Harrison Jr. to be a better receiver in his second season, and Harrison expects the same. He caught 62 passes for 855 yards and a team-leading eight touchdowns. His father, Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, made 64 catches for 836 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie in 1996. 'A little too similar in my opinion,' Harrison Jr. said, laughing, via video from Bo Brack of PHNX Cardinals. 'But nah, it works out in mysterious ways, and it all worked out.' Harrison Jr., whose father caught 73 passes for 866 yards and six touchdowns in his second season, has only one thing that will constitute improvement in Year 2. 'Improvement for me is winning more games,' Harrison Jr. said. 'I want to get a home playoff game for Arizona. I actually went to the [Rams-Vikings playoff] game, and it was like, 'There is a team playing the playoffs in our building.' It just didn't feel right.' The Cardinals went 8-9 last season, missing the playoffs for the third consecutive season and for the eighth time in the past nine seasons. They have not won a playoff game since 2015 when Bruce Arians was the coach, Carson Palmer was the quarterback and Fitzgerald was the top wide receiver.

Potential first-round target for Arizona Cardinals has medical red flag
Potential first-round target for Arizona Cardinals has medical red flag Mike Garafolo told the PHNX Cardinals podcast that DT Derrick Harmon has a shoulder issue that concerns some teams. The NFL draft is Thursday and we are getting some last projections, reports and tidbits about the players expected to be selected. In some cases, this information could lead to players being selected later than expected. Could that happen with a potential first-round target for the Arizona Cardinals? Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is one of the top interior defenders in the draft. He is big, athletic, productive and plays with a high motor. However, there is apparently an injury concern, which could cause teams to go a different direction. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, appearing on the PHNX Cardinals podcast, said the concern is Harmon's shoulder, which could push him into the back half of the first round. "That's how this thing works," he explained. "All of a sudden, if there are two guys and you've got a tiebreaker, one of them has clean medicals and the other does not, then we'll go with the clean medicals sometimes." If Harmon is on the board when the Cardinals are on the clock with the 16th overall pick and they pass on him, perhaps it will be because they were worried about the shoulder. Arizona Cardinals have top-30 meeting with Michigan DT prospect Kenneth Grant
Arizona Cardinals have top-30 meeting with Michigan DT prospect Kenneth Grant The Cardinals continue to bring in top defensive players for official visits. Can we add another top defensive prospect to the list of players the Arizona Cardinals are hosting for top-30 visits leading up to the 2025 NFL draft? The answer is yes. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said on the PHNX Cardinals podcast that the latest name among top defensive prospects is Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant. Grant is a prospect projected to go somewhere between the middle of the first round and the top of the second round in the draft. He is 6-foot-3 and 331 pounds with great athleticism. He is a great run defender and some believe he has upside as a pass rusher. In 2024, he had three sacks and seven tackles for loss. Some of other top defensive prospects who have met or will meet with the Cardinals are: Georgia EDGE Jalon Walker Georgia EDGE MyKel Williams Texas A&M EDGE Shemar Stewart Texas A&M EDGE Nic Scourton Ole Miss DT Walter Nolen Michigan CB Will Johnson Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr. Get more Cardinals and NFL coverage from Cards Wire's Jess Root and others by listening to the latest on the Rise Up, See Red podcast. Arizona Cardinals to have top-30 visit with Georgia pass rusher Mykel Williams
Arizona Cardinals to have top-30 visit with Georgia pass rusher Mykel Williams Georgia's Mykel Williams is one of a few top pass rushers in the draft the Cardinals are meeting with. The NFL draft is weeks away and the Arizona Cardinals are preparing for the 2025 NFL draft and part of that process is bringing in up to 30 player prospects for official visits at the team facility, meeting extensively with them and sometimes even eating dinner. The Cardinals have held some such visits already and have some visits planned with some big names. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, after saying on the PHNX Cardinals podcast that the Cardinals had met with Georgia pass rusher Jalon Walker and were going to meet with Tennesee's James Pearce, he also said the Cardinals would have a top-30 meeting the other of Georgia's pass rushers, Mykel Williams. Williams had five sacks and nine tackles for loss in 2024, playing in 12 games. He played banged up for part of the season with an ankle injury. He looks the part with his build at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds with over 34-inch arms. He is big, strong and athletic. However, as the guy that should have had great production in his final year in college, he wasn't dominant. However, he did exactly what he was coached to do and plays excellent against the run. He has been projected to be drafted as high as in the top 10, but always in the first round. He certainly would fit the profile of player the Cardinals like and could be the guy at No. 16 overall. Arizona Cardinals have top-30 meeting with Tennessee pass rusher James Pearce Jr.
Arizona Cardinals have top-30 meeting with Tennessee pass rusher James Pearce Jr. Pearce had 17.5 sacks and 28 tackles for loss over his final two seasons at Tennessee. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, appearing on PHNX Cardinals podcast, one guy coming in is Tennessee pass rusher James Pearce Jr. That meeting had not happened at the time of the interview. Pearce played three seasons for Tennessee and led the SEC with 10 sacks in 2023 and had 15 tackles for loss. In 2024, he followed that up with 7.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. He has all the physical traits to be great. He is 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds with nearly 33-inch arms and he moves very well. He ran the 40 at the combine in 4.47 seconds and posted a 31-inch vertical leap and 123-inch broad jump. He is projected to go as high as the middle of the first round, which is where the Cardinals have their first selection — No. 16 overall. The Cardinals have met or will meet with other potential first-round edge rushers like Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart, Georgia's Jalon Walker and Georgia's Mykel Williams.
