GDOT asking for public feedback on proposed I-16 widening
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has recently proposed a widening of Interstate 16.
According to GDOT, the proposed project would widen I-16 from two to three lanes eastbound and westbound between I-95 and (SR) 67 in Bulloch, Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham counties.
As part of the widening, 20 bridges in 10 locations will also be widened or replaced. The proposed project will improve existing substandard pavement conditions within the I-16 corridor.
GDOT is asking for comments on the proposed I-16 Widening project (P.I. 0020168 and 0020739) as part of the Public Information Open House (PHOH) comment period. The public is asked to review and submit comments on any aspect of the project.
You can learn more about the proposed plan on GDOT's website.
