The campaign involving direct interaction with residents and commercial outlets by providing pamphlets comprising key demands has been scheduled to go on till June 20.
CPM functionaries accusing BJP of engaging in divisive politics and targeting minorities with hate, said that the campaign would sensitize the public. Functionaries will also promote the demands placed with the BJP-led Union govt including one to increase the number of working days in MGNREGA scheme from 100 to 200 days besides increasing the daily wage of the beneficiaries to 600.
The campaign shall also raise a demand with the state govt to fill all vacancies prevailing in state departments.

Another important demand is to curb caste-related violences in schools across the state," P Lenin, CPM's Rockfort area secretary said. CPM cadres explained their demands to the public and shopkeepers near Srirangam Rajagopuram.
