N Saravana Kumar
, took charge as
Delhi Development Authority
's vice-chairman on Thursday.
In a career spanning around two and a half decades, Kumar worked in various sectors like communications and IT, law and justice, education, agriculture, animal husbandry, rural development, and the food and consumer protection department.

Kumar was holding the charge of principal secretary, department of food and consumer protection in Bihar, prior to joining DDA. He was district magistrate for almost 10 years in various districts of the state, including Patna, and significantly contributed to disaster management work during floods, for which he was awarded by state govt.

He also received letters of appreciation four times from the Election Commission of India during various elections in the state. During his tenure in the rural development department, Bihar was rewarded for conservation and management of water resources by the Union Jal Shakti ministry, and his presentation on the 'Organic Corridor' scheme was also awarded by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
