The whole process is straightforward and works well for freeing up space for taking more photos or videos. The Duo Link isn't fast enough to stream videos directly to it like some SSDs, but it is an easy way to back up important data and files as well as creating more space. Once the files are transferred to the USB drive, it's then easy to transfer the data to a Mac or PC for long term archiving and storage, freeing up more space on the PNY USB drive for future use. The drive has two interfaces, the USB-C one and a USB-A on the other end of the drive for use with an older device. Clearly, the most convenient way of handling storage problems on an iPhone is to buy the largest capacity you can afford, but that is expensive and not always necessary because an external storage device like the PNY Duo Link USB-C for decanting files may be all you need.
