Man awarded life imprisonment in POCSO case
The Special Court for POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act Cases has awarded life imprisonment to a man for sexually assaulting a minor girl.
According to prosecution, T. Rajkumar, 35, of Sottaiyanthoppu on Thoothukudi outskirts sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in 2019 and was arrested by the Thoothukudi All Women Police under POCSO Act based on the complaint from the victim.
The Special Court POCSO Act Cases Judge Preetha awarded life imprisonment to Rajkumar on Tuesday. The Judge also slapped a fine of ₹10,000 on him.
