Ukraine denies delaying POW swap, accuses Russia of 'dirty games'
Kyiv on Saturday denied Russian accusations that it had postponed an exchange of prisoners of war and repatriation of the bodies of killed soldiers that the two sides had agreed at peace talks last week. Ukraine's Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said in a statement that there was no fixed date for the return of bodies and that Russia was not sticking to the agreed parameters of the POW swap, accusing Moscow of "dirty games" and "manipulations." Russia says 307 POWs exchanged with Ukraine on second day of swap
Russia and Ukraine exchanged 307 POWs from each country on Saturday, the Russian defense ministry said on the second day of the biggest prisoner swap in more than three years of conflict. "Another 307 members of the Russian military were returned from territory controlled by the Kyiv regime. "The struggle to bring her back was long and challenging." The grandmother gained custody of Sofiia, and in March 2025, the girl came back to Ukrainian-controlled territory. Sofia's father was freed from captivity on the first day of the major prisoner swap. For the first time in years, he heard the voices of his mother and daughter. Kremlin says work is underway on the large Russia-Ukraine POW swap
