SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Come Aug. 28, fans will cheer on country stars instead of their beloved Jackrabbits when Blake Shelton and Thomas Rhett take the stage in Brookings for an event dubbed Jacks Bash 3. 'The students will be thrilled, and I just, so grateful to first PREMIER, Dana Dykhouse and the PREMIER family for helping us kick off the new year with this exciting concert,' South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn said Friday. 'Their tickets go on sale today for SDSU students,' First PREMIER Bank CEO Dana Dykhouse said. 'They'll be excited. Last time we had close to 25,000 people there. I expect the same thing or more this time.' Cost of chocolate doubled, Deadwood shop owners say The stadium bearing Dykhouse's name, where the Jacks play their home football games, will host the event. First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard are sponsoring the show. 'It's a great way to kick off the new school year,' Dykhouse said. 'It's a great way to kick off the football stadium, and a great way to celebrate all of our PREMIER staff members.' School president Barry Dunn says these events make memories which stay with the Jackrabbit faithful. The first Jacks Bash was in 2016, and the second took place in 2021. 'I've been president nine years now, and so I get to visit with alums and say what was your best memory of South Dakota State,' Dunn said. 'And I'm not kidding, the first thing out of their mouth is Jack Bash 1 or Jacks Bash 2, and maybe campus game day. And then it's a favorite professor. So this is a big deal for students.' SDSU students had their chance at tickets Friday. The general public will have an opportunity on April 25, while university staff and football season ticket holders should watch their email inboxes for details on tickets.
