(WJET/WFXP)– Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after a Crawford County couple was reportedly scammed out of more than $2,000. According to PSP Corry, the scam started when the elderly couple were notified about their PayPal account being frozen for fraudulent activity, and ended with fraudsters taking $2,200. Chautauqua Co. woman accused of stealing $27,000 in SNAP benefits

(WJET/WFXP) — A New York woman is facing several criminal charges for allegedly stealing nearly $30,000 in SNAP benefits. On Monday, April 21, investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff`s Office arrested 30-year-old Fredonia resident Tiffany Pratt following an investigation conducted by several Chautauqua County law enforcement teams. Three chainsaws, generator stolen from Crawford Co. barn: PSP Corry According to investigators, Pratt filed multiple SNAP applications with the Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services from May 2022 through January 2025. During that time, police claimed that Pratt allegedly failed to state her income on those applications, which resulted in her receiving over $27,000 worth of benefits to which she was not entitled. Lawn equipment reportedly stolen from Millers Auction parking lot: PSP Meadville Pratt is being charged with six counts of offering a false instrument for filing, grand larceny, welfare fraud and misuse of food stamps.
