Rumors Suggest Classic PS3 Game Series Could Return

For example, the gaming world right now might be obsessed with high-end PS5 titles like God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Helldivers 2 and many more. But our heart still yearns for classic PlayStation titles like MediEvil, Sly Cooper, Infamous, and many more. In recent times, Sony has inclined a lot in bringing back OG titles which have been dormant for years. For example, at the start of this year, Sony teamed up with Bandai Namco to release the remastered version of the classic PS Vita action RPG title, Freedom War. Sony also brought back the highly popular Killzone franchise to a certain extent when the company released some crossover content in Helldivers 2. As everything stands, it seems now it's time for the PS3 classic, Motorstorm. The Motorstorm series actually opened a new chapter in the racing genre by introducing hardcore off-road racing. Smaller vehicles like dirt bikes and the like were the main focus of the majority of all-terrain racing games at the time, such as MX vs. ATV. Despite all the love it got from the fans, there has been no installment from this franchise since 2012. However, that might change pretty soon. Stellar Entertainment, the development studio behind Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered, is currently working on a AAA arcade racing game which will be based on Unreal Engine 5. Now, an eagle-eyed redditor spotted that a PlayStation XDEV employee shared a job listing on the official website of Stellar Entertainment. And this is how all the speculations began. It's believed that the racing game Stellar is working now is actually for PlayStation and might be a Motorstorm installment. However, all of these are just mere speculations, so these rumors should be taken as grains of salt. It's true that Sony holds multiple racing game franchises, like Gran Turismo, Driveclub, and many more. But this AAA title doesn't belong to these franchises as neither of them are based on Unreal Engine 5. So, there are high chances we might see the PS3 classic making a comeback. PS4 Port of Vita's Best Game Is Under $10 on PS Store
Another day, another deal for gamers to sink their teeth into. Currently, Sony's video game digital storefront is running its Dealmania promotion which sees literally hundreds of items discounted up to 75%. This includes a , and one of the most beloved JRPGs of all time. Atlus' Persona 4 Golden is currently $9.99 on the PS Store. That is a 50% discount from its typical $19.99 price tag. Interested PS4 and PS5 gamers will want to hurry though as this offer ends in six days, on March 13. 'They say your soulmate will appear if you stare into a television set on a rainy night…,' reads the game's description on the PS Store. 'This strange rumor slowly spreads through the rural town of Inaba, the protagonist's new home, just as a chain of mysterious murders begin. As the protagonist and his teammates chase after the truth, they find themselves opening the door to another world.' Persona 4 Golden was originally launched for Sony's gone but not forgotten handheld, the PS Vita, back in 2012 and was received incredibly well upon release. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 93 across 61 critic reviews. It is tied with the base version of Persona 5 as the second highest-rated game in the series. The highest-rated is 2020's Persona 5 Royal, a rerelease of the fifth entry that added some new content, features, and quality-of-life improvements. Persona 4 received a plethora of spin-offs after its original 2008 release for the PS2. This includes the fighting game Persona 4 Arena, its sequel Person 4 Arena Ultimax, and rhythm game Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It was also given a manga and anime adaptation. The digital storefront's newest sales promotion, Dealmania, can save players up to 75% off on some of the best games Sony's platforms have to offer. This includes a little side-scrolling gem that released for the PS4 in 2016. Developed by Fiddlesticks and published by Curve Digital, Hue is currently just $2.99 on the PS Store. That is a whopping 80% discount off its usual $14.99 asking price. Interested players will want to move quickly on this offer as the deal ends on March 6. Purchasing the game entitles customers to both the PS4 and PS Vita versions. 'Hue is a vibrant, award-winning puzzle adventure, where you alter the world by changing its background colour,' reads the game's official description. 'You explore a dangerous grey land, unearthing coloured fragments on a journey to find your missing mother. As obstacles match the background, they disappear, creating new and exciting puzzles — full of peril, mystery… and colours unseen.' When Hue released back in 2016, it was received decently. Outage disrupts Sony's PlayStation Network worldwide
Feb. 8 (UPI) -- The PlayStation Network remains down Saturday after an outage Friday night. PlayStation, which is owned by Sony Interactive, has given limited information about the disruption. "We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN," PlayStation posted at 8:46 p.m. EST on X, 2 1/2 hours after outages were reported. Nearly 70,000 people reported the outage on Downdetector. Reports decreased to about 5,000 Saturday. Users are unable to access their online friends list, account management tabs, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct and even gaming, according to Sony's PlayStation Network page. Anyone running PlayStation Network on PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5 or the web will encounter the issues. Those on the console may see an error code reading "PlayStation Network is currently undergoing maintenance (WS-37432-9)" pop up on their screen. Wcctech reported some users managed to get back online and access their accounts and the PlayStation Store. The system went down for several hours on Oct. 1. In April 2011, PlayStation services stayed offline for 21 days due to an attack from hackers where 77 million accounts were compromised, and personal details were stolen. "Call of Duty" is among the games on the system. More than 530 million PlayStation consoles have been sold worldwide since it was released in 1994 in Japan, according to IGN. The best-selling one is 160 million units of PlayStation 2. In all there are five models with the latest, released in 2020, selling 65 million. PlayStation also manufactures handheld devices. The competing major console makers are Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo
