When is 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' coming to streaming? Here's our best guess

It's been 14 years since "Final Destination 5" horrified us with all the freakish ways we could die, and now a new entry is here to inspire a new generation with irrational phobias. If you want to know when "Final Destination: Bloodlines" is coming to streaming services, you're not the only one. Since premiering in theaters on Friday, the sixth film in the "Final Destination" series has made a killing, shooting past the $100 million mark. That's the best opening weekend box office for a "Final Destination" film ever, enough to knock the latest MCU entry, "Thunderbolts," out of the No. 1 top-earning spot this past weekend. At this rate, "Bloodlines" looks on course to become the highest-grossing "Final Destination" film to date. The critical reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, too, which for a "Final Destination" movie is unheard of. "Final Destination: Bloodlines" scored a 93% "certified fresh" score on Rotten Tomatoes — the highest for the series by a country mile, and a rare feat for horror movies in general. Understandably, you may want to know when you can catch this hit horror series revival from home. Lucky for you, we've got you covered. We know where "Final Destination: Bloodlines" will be streaming, and we have a solid guess as to when you'll be able to watch it, too. Here's when "Final Destination: Bloodlines" could stream on Max. While we don't know exactly when you can stream "Final Destination: Bloodlines," we know where you'll be able to watch it. The first stop for "Final Destination: Bloodlines" will likely be premium video-on-demand (PVOD) on digital platforms like Amazon or Apple. After that, "Final Destination: Bloodlines" will be available to stream on Max. This is because the horror movie is a Warner Bros. Discovery movie, and WBD owns the streaming video-on-demand (SVOD) service, Max. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. If history serves, there's typically a one-month gap between when WBD films land in theaters and their arrivals on PVOD, but there have been exceptions. For example, the studio's sci-fi comedy "Mickey 17" from "Parasite" director Bong Joon Ho debuted in theaters on March 7, and then premiered on PVOD on April 8. That being said, the studio's latest blockbuster, "A Minecraft Movie," arrived on PVOD on May 13, six weeks after its theatrical premiere on April 4, while its mind-bending sci-fi thriller "Companion" released on PVOD a little over two weeks after opening in theaters. Based on past Warner Bros. releases, I predict "Final Destination: Bloodlines" will arrive on PVOD around the end of June. My guess would be either June 17 or June 24, since studios tend to favor Tuesdays for rolling out new films on PVOD. As for when it could come to Max, Warner Bros. movies usually take about two and a half to three months from their release date to arrive on Max. If this follows a similar timeline, I predict "Final Destination: Bloodlines" will arrive on Max on August 1. I have a few other reasons to suspect this date. Max typically saves new film releases on its platform for Fridays. August 1 is an empty spot in Warner's release calendar, and with its horror film "Weapons" coming out the following Friday, August 8, WBD likely won't want to split its potential audience with a streaming debut in the same genre. Serving as both a prequel and sequel, the sixth Final Destination film breathes new life into the franchise and pushes its core concept to a chilling new extreme: If death hunts down those who escape their fate, what happens when those survivors go on to have children? Enter Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), a college student whose family has been living on borrowed time, thanks to her resourceful grandmother Iris (Brec Bassinger) who's managed to outwit death since the '60s. In a change of pace for the series, the opening disaster unfolds in the past, when Iris had a premonition about a swanky new observation tower and restaurant called The Skyview coming crumbling down. She manages to save everyone from being crushed, unknowingly setting off a chain of events that would haunt survivors for decades.

Rental Price Drops For Horror Hit ‘The Monkey' On Digital Streaming

Partial poster of "The Monkey." The Monkey — a hit horror thriller based on Stephen King's short story from Longlegs director Osgood Perkins — is now available to rent for much less on digital streaming. Rated R, The Monkey opened in theaters on Feb. 21. The official logline for The Monkey reads, 'When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy.' Written and directed by Perkins, The Monkey stars Theo James (Netflix's The Gentlemen) as twin brothers Hal and Bill, while Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk, Orphan Black) plays the twins' mother, Lois, in flashback scenes. The Monkey also stars Christian Convery as the young versions of Hal and Bill, Colin O'Brien as Bill's estranged teen son, Petey, and Elijah Wood as Ted, who is married to Hal's ex-wife, In addition to directing the film and adapting King's book for the film's screenplay, Perkins also plays a supporting role in The Monkey as Hall and Bill's uncle, Chip. The Monkey was released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on April 4 for a purchase price of $24.99 and $19.99 for a 48-hour rental period. On Tuesday, however, the PVOD rental price dropped to $9.99 for a 48-hour period and $19.99 for purchase. The film is available on PVOD on such digital platforms as AppleTV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and Spectrum. Filmmaker Osgood Perkins is the son of late Psycho movie icon Anthony Perkins and late actress Berry Berenson, whose credits include Cat People. Before his career as a filmmaker, Osgood Perkins' first credit in the movie business came as an actor as he starred as the young version of his father's legendary character, Norman Bates, in the 1983 horror thriller Psycho II. While Perkins has since acted in a variety of different film genres — his credits include the role of Dorky David in the 2001 comedy classic Legally Blonde — he hasn't strayed too far from his horror film roots, which includes a role in director Jordan Peele's horror thriller Nope in 2022. Prior to directing Longlegs and The Monkey, Perkins directed the horror films The Blackcoat's Daughter starring Emma Roberts, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Boynton in 2015, 2016's I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House starring Boynton, and 2020's Gretel and Hansel starring Sophia Lillis. Like Longlegs — which stars Maika Monroe as an intuitive FBI agent tracking down a devil-worshipping serial killer (Nicolas Cage) — The Monkey was a big hit in theaters and with critics. During its theatrical run, The Monkey earned $39.7 million domestically and nearly $24 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $63.7 million against an $11 million production budget before prints and advertising costs, per The Numbers. The film also received a 'fresh' rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics, who collectively gave the horror comedy a 78% 'fresh' rating based on 272 reviews. Audiences, however, gave The Monkey a 52% 'rotten' score on RT's Popcornmeter based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings. The Monkey is available for a reduced rental price on PVOD of $9.99 and a purchase price of $19.99 on Tuesday.

When Is Horror Thriller ‘Until Dawn' Coming To Streaming?

Ella Rubin in "Until Dawn." 'Until Dawn,' which is based on the hit PlayStations Studios video game, is new in theaters. How soon will it be before viewers can stream it at home? The summary for Until Dawn reads, 'One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover (Ella Rubin) and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one … only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. 'Trapped in the valley, they're forced to relive the night again and again — only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.' Rated R, Until Dawn also stars Michael Cimino, Odessa A'zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell and Peter Stormare. Currently, the only way you can watch Until Dawn is in theaters, so check your local listings for showtimes. The movie plays in Thursday previews before opening in theaters nationwide on Friday. When Until Dawn debuts in the home entertainment marketplace, its first stop will be on digital streaming via premium video on demand. Sony Pictures Entertainment, which is distributing Until Dawn through its subsidiary Screen Gems, tends to have a consistent window of time between their films' premieres in theaters and the time they arrive on PVOD — which is anywhere between one month to six weeks. For example, Sony's horror thriller Heart Eyes opened in theaters on Feb. 7 and debuted on PVOD just under a month later, on March 4. Before that, the studio's Marvel antihero movie Kraven the Hunter debuted in theaters on Dec. 13, 2024, and arrived on PVOD on Jan. 14. However, it took a bit longer for two bigger Sony titles to reach PVOD. The romantic drama It Ends with Us opened in theaters on Aug. 9, 2024, and pivoted to PVOD about six weeks later, on Sept. 24, while the Marvel antihero adventure Venom: The Last Dance debuted on PVOD on Dec. 10, a bit over six weeks after its Oct. 25 release in theaters. If Until Dawn follows the same one-month to six-week release pattern, viewers can expect it to arrive on PVOD sometime between May 27 and June 10, since new movies generally arrive on digital streaming on Tuesdays. Since Netflix has a deal in place with Sony Pictures Entertainment to stream the studio's films first, Until Dawn will make its streaming video on demand debut on Netflix. Typically, it takes three to four months after a Sony film is released in theaters before it arrives on Netflix. For example, Heart Eyes will debut on SVOD on Netflix on May 8, just over three months after its Feb. 7 release. It Ends with Us, however, debuted on Netflix on Dec. 9, 2024, four months after it opened in theaters on Aug. 9. Additionally, Venom: The Last Dance arrived on Netflix on Feb. 25, four months after its Oct. 25, 2024, premiere in theaters. If Until Dawn follows the same release pattern, then viewers can expect the film to arrive on Netflix sometime between July 25 and Aug. 27. Directed by David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation, Shazam!), Until Dawn plays in Thursday previews before opening in theaters nationwide on Friday.

In addition to Prime Video, One to One: John & Yoko will be available for purchase or rent on a variety of digital platforms, including AppleTV and Fandango at Home. One To One: John & Yoko has earned $149,206 domestically and $137,763 internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $286,969 to date, The Numbers reported. Information on the film's production budget or prints and advertising cost has not been disclosed. One to One: John & Yoko was given an 89% 'fresh' rating by Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 61 reviews. In addition, One to One: John & Yoko earned a 91% 'fresh' score on RT's Popcornmeter based on 50-plus verified user ratings. In February, Becoming Led Zeppelin — featuring the classic rock group's members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham — was released in IMAX before playing in limited release in theaters. Becoming Led Zeppelin made its PVOD debut on April 4. One to One: John & Yoko will arrive on PVOD on May 9.

For example, the studio's 2024 blockbuster supernatural comedy Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was released in theaters on Sept. 6, 2024, and made its PVOD debut on Oct. 8. More recently, the sci-fi comedy Mickey 17, which was released in theaters on March 7, arrived on PVOD on April 8. When Sinners arrives on PVOD, viewers can expect to pay anywhere from $19.99 to $29.99 to digitally purchase the film or $14.99 to $24.99 to rent it for 48 hours. Since Sinners is a Warner Bros. release, the film will make its streaming video on demand debut on Max, which is the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming platform. Max offers an ad-based package for $9.99 per month and an ad-free package for $16.99 per month. The streaming platform also has an ad-free package with programming in 4K Ultra HD for $20.99 per month. Typically Warner Bros. films take about two and a half to three months to debut on Max.
