Paayel Ghosh to play a visually impaired woman in Shaque

Paayel Ghosh Paayel Ghosh, who has been part of Hindi films like Mar Mitenge, Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi, and Fire of Love: Red, will next be seen in Shaque – The Doubt, in which she takes on the role of a visually impaired woman. The suspense thriller stars Krushna Abhishek opposite her. Talking about the genre, Paayel says, 'I'm a huge fan of suspense thrillers, and Shaque – The Doubt fits right into that category. The role is both intense and challenging — it really lets me tap into my potential. This is my first thriller, and I'm very excited. If the execution matches the narration, I believe it has the potential to be a hit. As someone who genuinely enjoys thrillers, I felt the tension and intrigue right from the first narration. ' On preparing for her role, she shares, 'When I was in school, I watched Black, in which Rani Mukerji played a visually impaired character — her performance left a strong impression on me. I rewatched it to study her expressions and body language. I also visited schools for the visually impaired to understand their mannerisms more deeply and authentically portray my character.' Recalling one of the fun moments on set, she adds, 'He would often mimic our director and producer so perfectly that for a moment, we'd think it was them! His comic timing is unmatched — he made me laugh so much my stomach would hurt.' Apart from Shaque, Paayel is also working on a Telugu period film that's set to release in multiple languages.
