Hot Seattle Mariners Open Crucial Series at Texas Rangers
After completing a successful five-game homestand by going 4-1, the Seattle Mariners begin a six-game road trip starting in the Lone Star State for three games against the Texas Rangers. The M's are looking for their eighth consecutive series win, while Texas is looking to bounce back into the win column.
Bryan Woo for the Mariners and Jack Leiter for the Rangers will be the probable pitchers for both teams in the series opener Friday night. Woo has a 3-1 record with a 3.09 ERA over 32 innings pitched while also striking out 30. He had a strong outing in his last go-round, going six strong innings, only allowing two earned runs on three hits and striking out eight against the Boston Red Sox.

Leiter, the 2024 Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year, has contributed greatly to this Texas rotation. In three appearances in 2025, he is 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA in 13 innings while also striking out 13.
For the next two games, Luis Castillo will toe the rubber on Saturday for Seattle against left-hander Patrick Corbin. Sunday afternoon's game will showcase some dueling righties with Logan Evans for the M's opposite Jacob deGrom.
Seattle went into Friday with a two-game lead in the American League West over the Houston Astros and Athletics. Texas is in fourth place, three games back.
