5 Minnesota breweries win medals at World Beer Cup
Earlier this month, five Minnesota breweries took home honors at the 2025 World Beer Cup Awards, which was held in Indianapolis.
The World Beer Cup is one of the beer world's most prestigious competitions, often referred to as the Olympics of beer. This year's competition took place across 112 categories with more than 8,000 entries from 45 countries.
Three Minnesota breweries grabbed gold medals, including Arbeiter Brewing's Haha Pils, which won in German Style Pilsener. Paddlefish Brewing's Vinter Liv won gold in Historical Beer, and Pantown Brewing's Coffee Cream Ale won in the Coffee Beer category.
Additionally, silvers were awarded to Hackamore Brewing's Saturday Morning Cartoons in the Dessert Stout category and Lakeville Vreating's Alternative Medicine in the German Style Altbier category.
"This is a testament to the passion, talent, and hard work of Minnesota's craft breweries and brewpubs," Jess Talley, Executive Director of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, said in a statement. 'These awards reinforce something craft beer fans have known all along: some of the best beer in the world is made right here, by our neighbors and friends, in communities all throughout Minnesota.'
