Paint the Town Pink sale to support breast cancer survivors starts Friday
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Volunteers have fluffed 12 thousand carnations for the annual Paint the Town Pink sale tomorrow. All the money raised goes to the Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors Group. It offers mammograms for the uninsured and under-insured, lymphedema sleeves, free wigs, and a support group that meets once a month. The flower sale will be at several locations, including Baesler's in Terre Haute and Organ Law at 817 Ohio Street beginning at 7 a.m. 'People are connected by family members, mom, sister, cousin, neighbor,' said Carnation Sale Chair Mary Umphries. 'Breast cancer affects one and eight women, so it's touched a lot of people's lives, and it's great that they want to come and give back and support survivors. Now, you know that's our mission: that no one fights breast cancer alone.' The Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors Group has a full list of locations online. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
