Palestine Center: Israel tortures prisoners to death
Gaza - Saba: The Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies confirmed that the Zionist enemy authorities continue their crimes against prisoners in prisons, which have multiplied during the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, reaching the point of murder. The enemy has assassinated (12) prisoners since the beginning of this year. The Palestine Center explained that the number of martyrs from the prisoner movement has risen this year to (303) martyrs, with (12) martyrs killed inside enemy prisons. Of these, (11) were killed as a result of the deliberate medical neglect of sick prisoners and the internationally prohibited cruel torture practiced by the enemy against prisoners, especially prisoners from the Gaza Strip. One minor prisoner was killed as a result of the starvation policy. It pointed out that five of the martyrs were detainees from the Gaza Strip, arrested by Israeli forces during the ground invasion of the Strip after raiding their homes, displacement sites, schools, and hospitals. All of them were civilians with no affiliation with resistance factions, and died as a result of torture in Israeli slaughterhouses and deliberate medical neglect. They were: Muhammad al-Asali, Ibrahim Adnan Ashour, Ali al-Batsh, Musab Abu Haniya, and Raafat Abu Fanouneh, all of whom died as a result of torture. The Center added that seven martyrs from the occupied West Bank died as a result of medical negligence, due to the starvation policy, which led to a decrease in the efficiency of the body's systems and the accumulation of weakness and disease, cumulatively leading to death. The Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies warned of the continued killing of Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli prisons, as a result of the occupation's continued repressive and aggressive policies against prisoners, and the insistence of the extremist occupation government to continue its crimes against them and provide protection to the perpetrators of these crimes. The Center confirmed that since October 7, 2023, the occupation has been seriously engaged in killing Palestinian prisoners inside its prisons using various methods, most notably torture, medical neglect, starvation, and beatings. During this period, (66) martyrs whose identities are known have been killed. The Palestine Center noted that the policy of killing prisoners has escalated as a result of widespread support from extremist ministers in the occupation government, who have given the green light to Shin Bet interrogators to practice all forms of internationally prohibited torture against prisoners. It noted that the martyrs from the prisoner movement are known, while dozens of unidentified martyrs were executed, either by shooting or through torture, medical neglect, or starvation. The Palestine Center called on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene immediately and form investigative committees to document the crimes of killing and torture against prisoners. Palestine Prisoners' Studies Center: 550 Arrests in April, including 14 women & 52 children
Beirut - Saba: The Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies (an independent Beirut-based organization) reported on Sunday that the Israeli occupation authorities continued their arrest campaigns in April, recording 550 arrests in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds. Among those detained were 14 women and 52 children, while two prisoners died due to deliberate medical neglect in Israeli jails. According to Quds Press Agency, the center noted that Israeli forces carried out mass arrests targeting dozens of Palestinians in multiple areas, including the villages of Kobar and Al-Tabaqa, the refugee camps of Al-Dheisheh and Al-Fawwar, and the cities of Al-Zahiriyya, Qalqilya, and Jaba'. Detainees were held in citizens' houses, which were turned into makeshift interrogation centers. The report also highlighted the ongoing targeting of women and children, with arrests including female university students, a journalist, and a lawyer along with her two daughters. The youngest detainee was a seven-year-old child. Regarding prisoners' health conditions, the center documented the deaths of two detainees: Nasser Redaida (49) from Bethlehem and Musab Adili (20) from Nablus, both due to medical negligence in Israeli prisons. This raises the number of Palestinian prisoners who have died in detention to 302. April also saw an escalation in administrative detention policies, with 910 new or renewed administrative detention orders issued—including against women and children. Among them was the youngest administrative detainee, a 14-year-old from Ramallah. Additionally, the center revealed shocking testimonies from released Gaza detainees, who reported enduring severe physical torture and systematic starvation in Israeli prisons, leading some to lose half their body weight. The center accused Israeli authorities of attempting to assassinate prominent prisoner figures through torture and starvation, including Abdullah Barghouti, Hassan Salameh, Abbas Al-Sayed, Muhammad Al-Natsheh, and Ma'mar Shahrour, all of whom are in critical health conditions due to abuse and neglect. The report noted that 73 detainees from Gaza were released during April via the Kerem Shalom and Karm Abu Salem crossings, including two women who had been subjected to enforced disappearance and were freed in deteriorating health conditions. Palestine Center: Zionist enemy arrested more than ten thousand citizens in Gaza
Gaza – Saba: The Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies said on Tuesday that the Zionist enemy arrested more than ten thousand Palestinian citizens from the Gaza Strip during the war. The center added that the Zionist enemy released a large number of them after interrogation and detention for various periods. It noted that 1,100 prisoners from Gaza were released as part of the "Flood of Freedom" deal, explaining that 40 prisoners from the Strip were martyred as a result of torture, medical neglect, starvation, and abuse.
