Auckland United Secure The Top Spot In Group B After An 11-0 Win Against PanSa
Press Release – OFC The New Zealand champions were a class above the American Samoan team who fought gallantly throughout but were unable to match their more skilful, quicker opponents. Auckland United FC coach Ben Bate made nine changes to the side which beat Hekari Womens FC 2-1 last week with an eye to resting some of his first choice eleven for the semis. PanSa adopted a low block on defence from the outset and seldom managed to get out of their half as the Auckland United side attacked from the first minute and maintained the pressure throughout the 90-minute contest. Chloe Knott with a quality finish opened the scoring in the 6th minute, but it took another 13 minutes of relentless attack before the New Zealanders doubled their lead. Ariana Vosper was brought down in the box and Ava Pritchard made no mistake from the penalty spot. Two minutes later Knott had her second goal after a pinpoint cross from Alexis Cook, before captain Jess Philpott unleashed a thunderbolt into the top of the net barely a minute later. Knott scrambled the ball across the line from close range for her hat-trick in the 30th minute. 14-year-old Vosper making her tournament debut scored the sixth goal five minutes before the break to round out the first half scoring. The relentless pressure continued in the second half with substitute Pia Vlok grabbing the seventh goal for Auckland United FC in the 51st minute. But to their credit PanSa never gave up and it took until the 81st minute for Auckland United FC to add to their tally, through Ariana Vosper's older sister, second half substitute Saskia Vosper. Further goals came through Vlok with two more for her hat-trick and Kate McConnell. Vlok playing just the second half earned the player of the match honours. For PanSa, goalkeeper Rayxena Foma'i turned in another impressive performance, maintaining her concentration and making a number of saves which helped prevent the score from blowing out further. AUCKLAND UNITED FC 11 (Chloe KNOTT 6', 21', 30' Ava PRITCHARD 19' pen, Jess PHILPOTT 22', Ariana VOSPER 40', Pia VLOK 51', 85′, 92′ Saskia VOSPER 81′, Kate McConnell 89′)

Hekari Womens FC Kick Off Campaign With Impressive Win
Papua New Guinea champions Hekari Womens FC have made the perfect start to their OFC Women's Champions League campaign with a commanding 12-0 win over American Samoa's PanSa. The Port Moresby-based powerhouse side are determined to go one better after consecutive runner-up finishes in the competition, and made their intentions clear from the outset against the tournament debutants. It didn't take long for Ericsson Komeng's side to find their rhythm. Romona Padio who missed last year's tournament in Solomon Islands showed her class with a powerful finish for the opening goal in the fourth minute. Hekari squandered a couple of chances before striker and captain Marie Kaipu bagged the first of four goals in the 16th minute, with her second coming two minutes later. Calista Maneo headed home the fourth goal in the 21st minute before Kaipu completed her hat-trick in the 25th and scored her fourth two minutes later. PanSa had started the match marking one on one, but coach Diane Justus reverted to more of a low block midway through the half and the tactic helped stem the flow of goals. In fact Hekari spent the remainder of the half largely frustrated by their inability to continue to penetrate the defence before a long-range effort from Michaelyne Butubu squeezed past Rayxena Foma'i in the PanSa goal. Foma'i to her credit made some terrific saves throughout the match, keeping Hekari from adding considerably to their total. Komeng made a raft of changes at halftime to give squad members a run ahead of what will be a much more demanding second match in Group B against defending champions Auckland United on Thursday (local Tahiti time). It took a quarter of an hour for Hekari to add to their tally, and it was a lovely finish from Adi Litia Bakaniceva who squeezed the ball under the advancing Foma'i. Substitute Nenny Elipas then scored arguably the best goal of the game in the 63rd minute with an exquisite right footed finish before a mistake from Foma'i was pounced on by Padio for her second of the game three minutes later. The midfielder had her hattrick in the 75th minute as Hekari showed they are capable of changing gears when needed. Kaipu added her fifth deep into stoppage time, firing high into the roof of the net to complete the scoring. PanSa FC: 0 Hekari Womens FC: 12 ( Romona PADIO 4', 66, 75, Marie KAIPU 16', 18', 25, 27' 90+5, Calista MANEO 21', Michaelyne BUTUBU 45+3', Adi Litia BAKANICEVA 60', Nenny ELIPAS 63')

The Pacific's Premier Women's Club Tournament To Get Underway In Tahiti
Press Release – Oceania Football Confederation This year's event marks the debut for the host nation's entry AS Pirae, Tupapa Maraerenga FC from Cook Islands and for American Samoa's PanSa FC. The pre-tournament media conference saw the seven competing team representatives come together. Tahitian side AS Pirae is ready to showcase local talent on home soil. Trainer Rupea Lambert says the players are inspired, not intimidated, by the opportunity. 'We are the first Tahitian team to participate in the OFC Women's Champions League and we are very proud to be here. It's not pressure — it's motivation. The girls are eager to perform in front of their home crowd,' Lambert said. Reigning champions Auckland United FC are entering the tournament in strong form. With seven league matches already under their belt this season, head coach Ben Bate believes his squad is better prepared than ever. 'We're much more mature in terms of our playing style. The players are in great condition. We're especially looking forward to facing Hekari — they're one of the top teams, and we welcome that challenge,' Bate stated. Hekari United of Papua New Guinea — runners-up in the previous two editions — return with a mission to finally secure the title. Coach Ericsson Komeng believes his side has grown from past heartbreaks. 'Finishing second twice has taught us a lot. We've gone undefeated in our domestic season since. Now we're back, focused, and hungry to go one better,' said Komeng. Smaller Pacific nations are also stepping into the spotlight. Tupapa Maraerenga FC from the Cook Islands and PanSa FC from American Samoa are eager to punch above their weight. For PanSa, team official Ati Faamau-Samuelu reflected on football's deep cultural roots in her country. 'Football is everything for our youth — even if they start on cement courts. PanSa is more than a team; it's our family's legacy. Our players may surprise many with their heart and fight,' she said. PanSa was established in 1997. 'That's when I started playing. If anybody asks what PanSa means, it's my parents' name. If you can see our logo, it has a Panamanian flag because our dad is Panamanian and my mum is Samoa,' Faamau-Samuelu said. Tupapa's coach Angela Wallbank emphasised national pride. 'We're not just playing for a club — we're representing the Cook Islands. The team knows the weight of that responsibility,' she said. Representing Fiji, Ba Women's FC is led by legendary figure Charlene Lockington, whose life in football dates back to 1979. For her, this tournament is the crowning moment of a storied career. 'This is the pinnacle. I've played, coached, and lived football with my family since the late '70s. Being here is a dream come true — for me and the generations of my family involved in the game,' she shared. Henderson Eels FC from the Solomon Islands arrive with star power in the form of Ileen Pegi, whose leadership and skill have been vital to the team's unity and confidence. 'Ileen lifts everyone. Her experience and energy inspire the squad — we're here to compete as one, for each other,' said team manager Daisy Maneihioha. The tournament kicks off on Sunday, local Tahiti time, with Henderson Eels FC playing Tupapa Maraerenga FC in the opening Group A match.
