Oman, Bahrain explore strengthening industrial partnership

Muscat: Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, today received Abdulla Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The two sides discussed ways to enhance collaboration between Omani and Bahraini factories by leveraging available production inputs in both countries. They also explored joint promotion of industrial products to attract foreign investments and enhance the competitiveness of national industries in regional and international markets. Both ministers emphasized the importance of implementing memorandums of understanding signed between the two nations, which were among the outcomes of the historic visit of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman in January 2025. They also stressed the need to build on existing agreements to further develop industrial and trade cooperation. The meeting was attended by Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Dr. Jumaa Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahrain's Ambassador to Oman, along with several officials from both sides.

Muscat – Oman Cricket proudly hosted the Junior 2nd Tournament – a series of tournaments hosted following an excellent rollout of the first edition, a vibrant celebration of emerging cricketing talent across the Sultanate. Spanning four competitive age categories — Under-11, Under-13, Under-16 (Schools & Academies) supported by Mazoon Dairy, and Under-19 supported by Majees Technical Services LLC — the tournament highlighted the growing strength of grassroots cricket in Oman. With exceptional performances and a strong show of exciting growing young talent, the tournament concluded with a formal prize distribution ceremony on Saturday to honour both team achievements and standout individual efforts. 'We are proud of the dedication and discipline shown by these young athletes. Tournaments like this are essential to building a strong future for Oman cricket,' said Alkesh Joshi, Treasurer – Oman Cricket who supported Chief Guest, H.E.
