Man charged after alleged hit-and-run, injuring two woman in Paremoremo

Photo: RNZ / REECE BAKER A man has been charged with careless driving after an alleged hit-and-run in Paremoremo, Auckland on Sunday morning. Emergency services were called to the scene on Attwood Road at 7.10am after reports of a white ute hitting two people and their dogs. The vehicle allegedly left the scene without stopping. Police said one woman was seriously injured while another was moderately injured - both were taken to hospital. Their dogs were also injured. A 39-year-old man has been charged with careless driving causing injury, ascertain injury and failing to stop. "The investigation remains ongoing, however we would like to thank all the members of the public who have so far contacted police," detective senior sergeant Mike Williams said. Women and dogs injured in hit and run north of Auckland

Emergency services were called to Attwood Road in Paremoremo about 7:10am after a reports of a white ute striking two pedestrians. Both women were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries and another with moderate injuries. One of the dogs was seriously injured and taken to a vet, but another went missing after the collision. Police have asked anyone with information about the vehicle or its driver - who fled the scene without stopping - to call the police on call 105. He said the white ute was travelling towards Paremoremo Road and was likely damaged in the collision.
