Parambrata Chattopadhyay becomes a father; Welcomes first child with wife Piya Chakraborty

is all set to embark on a new innings in his life – it's fatherhood! The acclaimed actor-director has become a father, as he and his wife, Piya Chakraborty, a social worker, welcome their first child. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Piya reportedly welcomed their first child, a son, in a private hospital in Kolkata. As per sources, both mother and child are in good health. However, the 'Pari' actor is yet to announce the happy news officially. Earlier this year, around Valentine's Day, Param and Piya had excitedly revealed that they were expecting a new addition to their family. The couple first shared news of their pregnancy in February through a heartwarming post on social media. The announcement featured a carousel of candid moments, beginning with a warm embrace between Parambrata and Piya. The post also offered glimpses into their home life with their pets — a dog named Nina and a cat named Bagha. The final slide, with a picture of flowers, carried the message 'Baby on the way'. Piya had shared around that time, their first child would be born in June, if everything went as per the timeline. Parambrata's birthday falls on June 27. Fans were overjoyed as speculation arose about the possibility of the father and his child sharing the same birthday. However, if not the same day, the father and son will now be celebrating their birthday in the same month. Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Piya Chakraborty got married in November 2023. The couple registered their marriage in an intimate affair. Family members and close friends of the couple attended the ceremony. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Parambrata and Piya had been romantically linked with one another several times before they finally tied the knot. However, the duo never confirmed their romance before and maintained a friendship with each other. Piya separated from her former husband and musician Anupam Roy, in 2021. Two years after that, Piya tied the knot with Parambrata. Back in November 2023, Piya and Parambrata shared a couple of pictures after they were legally married. Six months after the ceremony, Piya took to social media to share a few more glimpses from their marriage ceremony and reception party. Parambrata, known for his acting prowess, has also been donning the hat of the director now and then. His directorial 'Ei Raat Tomar Amaar', featuring Anjan Dutt and Aparna Sen, treated the audience to much-coveted nostalgia and the idea of companionship. As an actor, Param was recently seen in 's 'Shotyi Boley Shotyi Kichhu Nei', then reprised his role as Ananda Kar in Srijit's psychological thriller 'Killbill Society' – which is a sequel to the filmmaker's previous hit 'Hemlock Society'. His latest film 'Sonar Kellay Jawker Dhan' is slated to release in the theatre this month.

Even the doctor cried when she gave her piggy bank to save her dad. Sort of miracle happened 3 months later

Sometimes a little girl's steadfast devotion and unconditional love can work wonders. A neurologist from Hyderabad recently shared a story of a miraculous recovery of a man who had suffered a bad stroke. In his X post, Dr. Sudhir Kumar wrote about a little girl named Pari, who gave up her piggy bank, containing all of her savings, to restore her father to health. Her father, who once played antakshari with her enthusiastically, now lay on the hospital bed, paralysed from a stroke. Recalling the little girl's heartbreaking enthusiasm to save her father's life, the doctor recalled, "She opened her school bag and pulled out her most precious possession — a slightly cracked piggy bank, its pink paint faded with time. I have saved a lot of coins in this,' she said, her voice brave and steady despite the tears. You can use all of them to make Papa speak again." — hyderabaddoctor (@hyderabaddoctor) The Healing Power of Music Pari's father was enrolled in a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Alongside medicine and speech therapy, the doctors introduced Melodic Intonation Therapy (MIT) — a technique that uses the musical abilities of the brain to restore language. Old Hindi melodies filled his hospital room. Kishore Kumar's songs, his favorites, became his medicine. At first, there were only faint hums. Then, slowly, broken words emerged. He couldn't converse yet, but he could sing. And every time Pari looked sad, he would hum softly, 'Rona kabhi nahi rona, chahe toot jaye khilona.' It wasn't fluent speech, but it was love made audible. Love Walks Again For three months, Pari visited the hospital faithfully, books in hand and hope in her heart. She would sit beside her father and whisper, 'Remember antakshari, Papa?' He would nod, hum, and sometimes even manage a few words. One day, Pari walked into the outpatient department, her father beside her, standing tall and steady. When they reached the doctor, he looked at his daughter and, with clear words and a warm smile, said, 'Pari, let's play antakshari.' This goes on to prove that sometimes, a daughter's unconditional love can be enough to bring the parent back from the brink of death. Dr. Sudhir Kumar is a renowned neurologist. He works with Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad.

Kaliyugam 2064 Movie Review: An ambitious dystopian thriller that's too disoriented to entertain

Kaliyugam 2064 Movie Synopsis: It's 2064, and people are struggling to meet their ends as even basic needs like food and water aren't available. Will there be a recovery from this crisis? Kaliyugam 2064 Movie Review: Pramodh Sundar's ambitious dystopian thriller, Kaliyugam 2064, is a film that aims for the sky but abruptly crashes along the way. The film is set in 2064, where people are struggling to stay alive as the power rests in the hands of a group who call themselves Residents. As Residents kill anyone who isn't with them, another group named Liberators is formed to overthrow Residents and build an egalitarian world. Rather than building upon its intriguing basic premise, Kaliyugam 2064 loses its focus pretty early on. The scenes prior to Sketch's (Kishore) entry do contribute to the film's worldbuilding, but they end up being too drawn-out. Even when Kishore and Iniyin Subramani try to give their all, the film is too disoriented to keep us invested. The revelations made later on in the film do help in providing more context to moments that occur in the first half, but it isn't enough to revitalise the film. Kaliyugam 2064 really picks up after the character of Pari (Shraddha Srinath) is introduced. The aptly written character and Shraddha's performance as Pari do manage to add new life into the film. But, even with solid performances and an admirable setup, the film never reaches its full potential. It's one of those films that bites off more than it can chew. Kaliyugam 2064 falls under a trap of being a film driven largely by its vision, as the makers falter in pulling off that vision with finesse.
