With 'Paris en Seine,' Mayor Anne Hidalgo Aims to Keep the Olympic Fervor Alive This Summer

A free, unprecedented program of events and sporting activities will be on offer in every arrondissement of the capital this summer, especially along the banks of the Seine, to mark the one-year anniversary of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
After a summer of Olympic fervor in 2024, Paris city hall intends to keep the festivities going during this year's summer period. Alongside the return of the Olympic cauldron in the Jardins des Tuileries from June 21 to September 14, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo is launching 'Paris en Seine,' a program of free events and sporting activities that will be rolled out in all of the city's 20 arrondissements. The Arènes de Lutèce (5th arrondissement), Parc Monceau (17th arrondissement), Parc Martin-Luther-King (17th arrondissement) and Jardins d'Éole (18th arrondissement) will offer cultural and sporting events. The banks of the Seine at Paris Plage, meanwhile, will offer activities with a Brazilian theme.
'We want to perpetuate the spirit of the Olympics, the conviviality, the fraternity, the moments of unity that we experienced last summer,' Pierre Rabadan, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of sports, told French local newspaper Le Parisien .
