Woman dead, second victim seriously injured after shoot-out at Winston-Salem apartment complex
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman is dead and another is seriously hurt after a , according to police.
At about 9:21 p.m. Friday, Winston-Salem police responded to a report of gunfire and a shooting victim on the 2400 block of Old Greensboro Road.
At the scene, officers found 50-year-old Pariss Tucker Baines suffering from gunshot injuries. According to police, Baines was outside her apartment when she was shot. Bystanders carried her inside. She died at the scene.
Another woman, who also had a gunshot wound, was found in a different apartment. Police say she was shot inside the apartment. The woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Officers believe that two groups of people were shooting at each other from across the parking lot. They believe the victims were not targeted.
Police have not released any information regarding potential suspects.
