Launched on Monday, the app brings a range of innovative features designed to enhance user convenience and support Dubai's growing urban mobility needs. The Parkin app, available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, offers several cutting-edge features. One of the most notable is the 'Park Now, Pay Later' option, which provides flexibility by allowing users to defer their parking payments. The app also boasts a real-time parking finder, helping drivers locate available parking spaces quickly. By using the app's dynamic search functionality, users can easily access both on-street and off-street parking options, with live availability updates. Additionally, motorists can plan ahead by scheduling parking in advance, integrating it into their calendar for future reference. According to Parkin, the app's clustering feature improves the parking experience further by grouping parking spaces based on real-time availability. This smart categorization ensures that users can find a spot faster, saving both time and effort. 'The PayLater option provides flexibility for deferred payments, while the dynamic auto-renewal ensures uninterrupted service and a convenient parking fee payment experience,' said the company in a statement. How the Parkin App Works Motorists can register for the app in three ways: by creating an account, using the UAE Pass or RTA account, or completing the Parkin registration form. Once logged in, users can make payments for both public and private parking, including multi-storey car parks. Additionally, the app integrates parking permits into device wallets, centralizing all parking-related information for easy access and management. The AutoPay feature is another highlight of the app, eliminating the need for physical tickets, payment machines, or manual transactions. Using automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) technology, the app automatically detects the vehicle's entry and exit, linking the plate number to the user's registered payment method for automatic fee deduction. This feature is available at Parkin-operated multi-storey car parks and with Parkin partners like Majid Al Futtaim, which operates popular malls like Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre. Through the app, customers can also access detailed information about available amenities, reserve parking spaces, or extend their tickets, making for a more streamlined and enjoyable parking experience. Looking ahead, Parkin plans to expand the app's capabilities to include electric vehicle (EV) charging. This will allow users to pay for both the EV charging tariff and parking fees in a single transaction using the digital wallet. There are also plans to offer additional services at select parking locations, such as car washing, mobile refueling, engine oil changes, tyre checks, and other essential vehicle maintenance services. Parkin's rapid growth in Dubai's parking sector is reflected in its impressive customer base. In the first nine months of 2024 alone, Parkin successfully processed around 95 million parking transactions. With this new app, Parkin aims to further enhance the city's parking experience and continue its support for Dubai's innovative transportation infrastructure.
