‘Deepest condolences' – Meath football club mourning death of 10-year-old player as games postponed out of respect
A football club in Navan suspended all junior activities this weekend as a mark of respect after one of their Under-10s players passed away.
Parkvilla FC member Bernard Power died peacefully on Friday at Temple Street Children's Hospital surrounded by his family.

Later that day Parkvilla spread the news among the wider community with a heartwrenching tribute post on Facebook.
It stated: "Parkvilla are saddened to hear of the passing of our U10 Player Bernard Power.
"We would like to express our deepest condolences to his parents Bernard & Chloe, his sisters & the extended Power & Conaty family.

"As a mark of respect, all schoolboy/girl activities & games are cancelled this weekend.
"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
Among the replies solidarity was shown across the footballing community as nearby clubs expressed their sorrow.
Trim Celtic AFC wrote: "All at Trim Celtic AFC send our condolences at this time of profound grief to Bernard's family, team mates and all his friends, may you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with Bernard."

Similarly, Robinstown FC added: "All at Robinstown FC are sorry for the loss of Bernard.
"Sincere sympathy to Bernard's family, friends ,team mates and all at Parkvilla FC.

Bohermeen Celtic were on hand too to offer some words of comfort.
Their reply read: "Everyone at Bohermeen Celtic would like to offer their deepest condolences to Bernard's family, friends and all his Parkvilla teammates at this sad time.
"Ar dheis dé go raibh a h'anam dílis."
There were also sweet tributes paid by individuals involved with the local football scene.
Dan Power recalled: "Heartbreaking news. A privilege to have watched him play against our team, full of energy, joy, and a real love for the game, a fantastic little boy.
"Deepest condolences to Bernard's family, his teammates, coaches and everyone in the Park Villa family.
"We're all thinking of you during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in perfect peace little man."
