Himachal Pradesh cabinet nod to recruit 1,000 ‘pashu mitras'
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh council of ministers on Monday approved
Pashu Mitra Policy-2025
. Under this, 1,000 posts of multi-task workers (pashu mitras) will be filled in the
animal husbandry department
.
The cabinet, headed by chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, also gave the nod to fill up 100 posts of junior office assistant (library) in the education department to ensure the smooth functioning of school libraries.
Additionally, it approved the creation of 10 posts of senior assistant and 15 posts of junior office assistant (IT) in the revenue department. A nod was also given to fill five posts of various categories in the state transport appellate tribunal at Hamirpur. Approval was granted to fill up five posts of ayurvedic pharmacy officer on a batch-wise basis in the Ayush department.
The cabinet gave its nod to enhance the fodder grant for gauvansh (stray cattle) kept in gausadans from Rs 700 per cattle head per month to Rs 1,200.
The ministers also approved an increase in the monthly honorarium of operation theatre assistants from Rs 17,820 to Rs 25,000 and for radiographers and X-ray technicians from Rs 13,100 to Rs 25,000.

Mukhya Mantri Green Adoption Yojna
for plantations on degraded forest lands by private entrepreneurs under corporate social responsibility (CSR) to increase the actual forest areas in the state. It also decided to bring the adjoining forest area of Mata Tara Devi Temple in Shimla district under the green area of Shimla Development Plan to ensure sustainable development in the region.

The cabinet approved framing comprehensive guidelines on hiring e-taxis under Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Start-Up Yojna-2023. It also put its seal to merge the design wing with the civil wing in the public works department to streamline the department's functioning and improve operational efficiency. Approval was also given to rename the veterinary dispensary Sarahan as veterinary dispensary Baga Sarahan in the Nirmand development block of Kullu district.
Regulated Construction
The cabinet gave its nod to amend the Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Rules, 2014, to restrict the construction of buildings on the valley side in Shimla municipal corporation limits. As per the new provision, such constructions must be at least one metre below road level, aiming to preserve the valley's aesthetic appeal for visitors.
